I for one didn’t see the FB dive coming again. Surprised Nebraska was ready for it.

The difference in 4th and short play calls in back to back drives totally changed the game. The Kuhn dive vs read option with option to throw as well.

Is the uncatchable thing still a rule?

Damn good win if you ask me. The Nebraska team I saw today is in the same class as Iowa, Penn State, Notre Dame, MSU, and even Michigan IMO.

Eh, they also dropped an easy catch that would have set up 1st and goal at the 3 and missed a 33-yard field goal. They weren't that bad. Most importantly, Nebraska is a very underrated team that matches up well with them. Are we forgetting how well they played against OSU just last week?

Chryst needs to call a different 4th and 1 play at least once a decade. When everyone watching in the stadium/at home knows the exact play coming, it’s a problem.

And when he sees Nebraska shove 7 defenders on the line between the guards to stop said obvious play, he really needs to take a TO and reconsider wtf he’s doing.

I noticed the same thing. Nebraska clearly knew what was coming.

3-8 Nebraska is maybe going to be favored over 9-2 Iowa or damn near close to it.

That’s one of the best 3-8 teams in the history of college football. I don’t know how they’ve lost all of these close ones against good teams even though clearly they have issues.

It matters because I’m irrationally annoyed that Nebraska will beat Iowa and set up that stupid circus leader Fleck with an inferior team to go to Indy at home next week. Caveats: whoever wins will lose by 1000 to Ohio State and yes the Badgers are better than MN but it shouldn’t even come down to this even though we should win.

Reminds me a bit of the 2012 badger team that lost 6 one score games, including 3 in OT and the rose bowl.

Except we also gloriously pummeled Nebraska in the big ten championship game, so **** them.

Hot take: UM will somehow beat OSU next week and we beat them in the championship game.

Leonhard gets a free pass and is usually great, but I think Nebraska had the perfect personnel and scheme to counter the blitz and he spent the whole game refusing to admit it. Martinez was barely fazed by it all game, and I think their success rate on getting pressure was abysmal considering how often they blitzed. They drew a few holding calls but even that wasn't a great success rate, especially since one of them was actually a great heads-up play by lineman to save a down while losing just a couple yards on the penalty.

I don't know what the deal is with it, but Leonhard and a bunch of the players basically admitted that they struggle most scheming Nebraska after the game. Even though the Badgers have owned Nebraska in the win column, they always move the ball on us.

I'm sure there is a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't aspect to it, but it was really puzzling to see 2 ILBs or safeties basically running at a full sprint at Martinez on every play action while a tight end leaked out or a crossing route ran with nobody within 5-10 yards.

The Badgers noted they have a very complex/unorthodox/tricky scheme and Frost clearly had something going that preyed on the aggressiveness of the Badgers' linebackers/safeties.

The good thing is I'm not sure many other teams have the personnel or scheme to pull this off. Of course, OSU would torch us just lining up and throwing the ball.
