Keeps the locker room glued together so I get it. Smart probably wouldn't take well to being benched.

Exactly why we should move Marcus.

Watching him play, he fits way too damn well. He's not just instant offense, but instant energy and aggression. Idk if Udoka is telling these guys to drive to the rim more, or if Dennis is rubbing off on them, but either way, it's beautiful ball to watch and losing him would be a gut punch.

The problem is the Celts would need actual cap space to re-sign Dennis.

If not cap space, the max the Celts can offer is the MLE.

With the way Dennis is playing right now, there will be a number of teams who will easily offer him 20m per year.

That may end up being the decision that Schröder makes.
But who do you envision with have $20M in extra Cap Space, and needs to sign a Starting PG?

The Non-Tax MLE, will be about $10M. He may take that, if he likes the fit here.
After 3 years, we'll have Bird Rights for him. No one else will have that.

Very wishful thinking. If he continues to play like this he would be a fool to to settle for 10M. I think hes been great and would love to see him here moving forward but you cant expect a guy to settle for half of what hes worth at this point in his career.

29 of 30 teams would start Schroder over Smart. Let's not be the only standout when Brown returns. Schroder is miles better than Smart this year. Start him. As they were mentioning on the broadcast the other night, teams have a high percentage of winning games when gaining first quarter leads. Schroder has been a killing it on offense to open games lately. Starting Smart would be wrong for this team's success. So many of our losses last season were first quarter leads we couldn't recover from.

Sign Thabo, Korver, and Mike Scott. Win 60 games. Jeff Teague came in a season too early.

Totally Agree. Schröder should be our Starting PG. And Smart should go back to being our Super 6th-Man.

Horford is really doing well this year.
Both him and Schröder will get a lot of Votes for All-Star.
