Defense wins....

Post#1 » by Klomp » Sun Nov 21, 2021 9:25 pm

No. 5 in opponent FG%
No. 1 in opponent 3FG%
No. 1 in opponent turnovers per game
No. 4t in steals per game
No. 3t in blocks per game
No. 11 in defensive rating

We are 1/5th through the season. At what point do we start to say this defense is legit and not a mirage. I know there are rebounding concerns (which explains the defensive rating drop), but this team defends the crap out of the ball!

Clear improvement, but we are not playoff caliber defense by any stretch until we get a little more help.

Anyone know how the defense goes with and without okogie?

The problem is we are also pretty bad in fouls committed. I think they said we are one of the worst at putting opponents at the line as well. Foul trouble has plagued MCD this season and KAT is still as vulnerable as ever. But I agree the mindset has shifted and I credit Finch and Beverly and JO for it.

5-point W at Bucks (113-108)
20-point L vs. Clippers (84-104)
10-point W vs. Kings (107-97)
25-point W vs. Spurs (115-90)
43-point W vs. Grizzlies (138-95)

Nice to see this. It has been noticeable when watching the games too.

When DLo and/or Beasley are hitting their shots we can win a few games.
