GT #17: Hornets @ Bullets 7 PM (NBCSW/980 AM) [11/22/21]

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Sun Nov 21, 2021 3:25 am

YOUR Washington Bullets are 11-5 and sitting in 2nd in the East! They broke a 2-game losing skid with an incredible comeback victory against the HEAT on Saturday night!

For Monday night, they face the same Hornets team they lost to this past Wednesday. As we all recall, the Hornets were down 9 in the 3rd quarter and the Bullets seemingly forgot how to attack a 2-3 zone once again! Some bad possessions sprinkled with turnovers and you got the Hornets cruising to a victory.

The Hornets are coming off a loss to the ATL Hawks.

Will the Bullets stop the bleeding early in games and 3rd quarters? Can they put together a complete performance? Will they take advantage of Charlotte's subpar defense in the paint?

Another revenge game... hopefully the officiating isn't as terrible as it was on Saturday (thanks Scott Foster!)

Looking forward to how this team responds after getting stymied by the Hornets zone defense midway through the third.

The Wizards have a lopsided advantage at center which they should work and go to exploit early and often, and on the perimeter the Wizards guards need to move and cut with purpose to get the Hornets defenders to react.

Washington also has been unable to get top of their ball security issues for something like 5 games in a row now, it's time those guys get it going.

A stretch of four winnable road games coming up before facing a tough 6 game road stretch.

Would be nice to get a win before facing this brutal stretch of 14 road games over the next 20.

I don't take any plus 500 team for granted. Zards have to be on their game to win this.

Every game counts this year.

Right now, the Wizards are 11-5 and ranked 3rd the East. But they're just 3.0 games separating 1st from 10th. If their two overtime wins were losses, a loss tonight would put them in a tie for 10th. And they'd still have Atlanta and Toronto threatening to bump them to 12th.

No doubt. From top to bottom, the East is much better than the West... though I think the Warriors should still be odds on favorites to win it all.

So funny that a couple of years ago people were whining that the playoffs should be seeded 1-16 because the West was so much better. These things are always cyclical.

Just a thought - we might want to cover Rozier at the 3 point line. Just throwing that idea out there.

Our 1st quarters are always emotionally painful. Love getting quick 7 to 8 point leads and just giving it right back.

Beal making a catch and shoot three? Getting an easy fast break layup? It's nice capitalizing on some easy buckets for once.

Cody Martin is a good young player -- I've been calling his name since before the '19 draft. His twin brother is coming on lately as well.
