Moral of this story is we were bound to start losing some of these close games, you can't expect just to keep pulling off miracles. We nearly outrebounded them by 30 and still lose. Why? 18 TOs, 9-36 from three (once again looks inflated by some late threes), and our starting backcourt going 7 for 29 (there's went 21-43 with 11 threes). We don't know from night to night what Dinwiddie is going to show up, and so far it's been more misses than hits.

Really starting to get curious only playing Deni 20 minutes a game when he's our best defender, especially in a game with so many defensive lapses.

Dinwiddie's play or lack thereof, is becoming a real issue.

He's slow, can't penetrate, finish or defend.
President Trump told two senior Russian officials in a 2017 Oval Office meeting that he was unconcerned about Moscow’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election because the United States did the same in other countries

Argh frustrating. Losing at home sucks.

Miami is better, I don't believe Charlotte is. They're defense is putrid, it just so happens that we can't exploit it because we can't make threes at a clip acceptable for your local Y. Ball also, had it not been Beal and Dinwiddie playing matador defense, takes a lot of really bad shots. He's a great passer, and a good rebounder, but his offensive game is ugly to me in a lot of ways. He got hot when we literally wouldn't put a body on him.

Against Charlotte we could really use Bertans
In Rizzo we trust

Horrible loss tonight. We got zero 50-50 balls. Lack of hustle. Defense was bad on Ball and Rozier. Too many open shooters all night and we launched so many threes. You can't continue to no-show in the first half and first three quarters and show up in the fourth quarter.

Turnovers are horrible, but so are bad shots and so are missed layups. You could pile on Beal and he was bad, but they got nothing from Dinwiddie and Kuzma put up stats, but doesn't value the ball enough. Our backup point guards continue to kill us, especially Neto (4pts, 3 turnovers, 1 assists). I could just tell when we got off to that 8-0 start, and they came back like it was nothing, that it was going to be a long night.

Extremely disappointed but maybe we were playing over our heads and coming back to the norm.

Agreed. Aside from some clutch play down the stretch, he's been a disappointment thus far. It's early, but he's a self-check for long portions of the game which allows teams to put a lot of pressure on Beal which was the reason he was brought here as a release valve. He settles for early clock three way too often, pounds the ball for 12 seconds at the top of the key before even attempting to initiate the offense, and doesn't bring much in the way of any sort of intensity. Maybe he's the calm and collected type, so I won't hold that against him, but the rest of his game is speaking pretty loudly for itself.

True, but he can use his size and post up smaller guards or get in the lane and shoot mid-range shots. My problem with him is and maybe that's on Wes Jr. that he doesn't push the ball enough. I don't think he's bad defender, though tonight Ball just flew by him. It's possible that he lost some quickness from the ACL and is still trying to get it back. He's hit a lot of big shots in just 17 games.

I will say this…

A game like tonight, we win with Westbrook at PG.

I'm not against trading him (not for Simmons) as long as we can get a younger, bigger version who can score. It's not going to happen. He's probably here for life. But is he a super max guy? F-ck no. Not at 27.8% from 3 and 42% from the field. He has to be a facilitator though because our backup 1s are so bad and Spencer doesn't get much penetration into the lane. That's where a lot of turnovers occur. I wish we had another combo guard ala Tyrese Haliburton. Better 3-point shooter than Beal.

True but Ball probably goes for 40. But sure, the pace would be different and he puts up 29, 15, and 10 (9 turnovers)

Love Wes by-and-large so far. But his refusal to stem tides and get this team focused to open the third could use some work.

How the hell do you lose a game pretty badly when this happens.

Dude the way we've shot against Charlotte, I think Bertans would have been missing. I'd say almost half are looks have been wide open, or really favorable position, and its just a clank fest. Against Charlotte, its played right into their hands and they go out running against making it difficult to set the defense. But to my point, its been bizarrely bad three point shooting against them.

Starting to wonder if Beal’s off-season price tag is going down. Is this a prolonged bad stretch or is this the Beal we’re getting this year?

Dinwiddie is an anomaly. He can get to the rim when he wants but chooses….not to.

WUJ needs to end his love fest with Holiday.

Trez needs to be signed to a 20-year deal.

Deni needs more PT.

Gafford needs to put on about 30 pounds of muscle.

Shame we wasted KCP’s “making shots” game. I really like those.

18 TOs, 9-36 shooting, and your starting backcourt going 7 for 29 along with matador defense against a guy know for being slithery and leaving their other undersized shooting guard wide open from three all game long.

Bruh he was 4 for 10 and 2 for 6 from three. Not awful, but if that constitutes his "making shot" game, yikes. Only plus tonight is he didn't try to do too much when he got the ball.
