Victory Cigar!!! BOS 108, HOU 90 (10-8)

Post#1 » by GoCeltics123 » Tue Nov 23, 2021 2:53 am

Did what they needed to do after a sluggish first half. Horford was really really good, as the team continues to dominate 3rd quarters. Nice to see Ime burn some timeouts before Houston got back into it too.

Tatum VC. He's back. Nice to see Nesmith make some shots...gotta see that from Pritchard at some point.

BRING ON THE NETS. BRING ON KYRIE. Wait...well bring on KD/Harden I guess lol

Went with Tatum though after the first quarter the whole team played well. Brown, Horford, RW3 and Smart all put in solid minutes.

Nice to see Nesmith come in and hit a couple shots, but he and Pritchard are still finding their rhythm it seems.

Tatum and Horford led the way; but Rob, Jaylen, Romeo and even Grant, Marcus, Dennis and Enes had a hand in this one.

An alternative view:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed FGs - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+24 Jayson Tatum (34 minutes) killed Houston in spite of 1-9 3 pt. shooting
+20 Al Horford (24 minutes) devastating in his time on court

+16.5 Rob Williams III (23 minutes)
+12.5 Jaylen Brown (23 minutes) great first game back
+12 Romeo Langford (20 minutes) probably one of Romeo's 2 best games this year

+7.5 Grant Williams (25 minutes)
+6 Marcus Smart (23 minutes)
+6 Dennis Schroder (28 minutes)
+5 Enes Kanter (11 minutes) Impactful in limited minutes

+1 Bruno Fernando (2 minutes)
+1 Juancho Hernangomez (5 minutes)
+1 Aaron Nesmith (6 minutes)

-0.5 Sam Hauser (2 minutes)
-4.5 Payton Pritchard (6 minutes)

Tatum 1-9 from three and still dropped 30 on 22 shots, carried them early and let other guys do their thing in the second half. Another night of him making a bunch of awesome passes, even if the assists don’t reflect it.

Jaylen was awesome in the third quarter, can tell
he ran out of steam a bit after that. Good to get that out of the way before the Nets game.

Rob had a really good game, Al too, and Smart.

Schroder 0 assists and 4 turnovers, yuck. But he was okay otherwise lol.

Tatum has a nice streak going. Gets the VC once again. Only negative was the 1-9 from 3. Loved the 9-9 from the line. JB had a nice shooting streak. Romeo played a very solid game. Rob and Al with great numbers on the boards. All in all a good win albeit against a weak team.

Solid team VC there.

Don’t look now, but we’re the 6th in the east

Great test coming Wednesday.

Tatum's gonna win this VC, but I'm giving it to Jaylen for a (mildly) explosive return. That personal 8-0 run in the 3rd had me giddy. Welcome back, boy!

Yeah should we be worried about the development of these guys or is it just a sophomore slump?

The only stretch where one guy had to carry the team was Tatum's right at the beginning. So Tatum.

Brown would just be for the injury-return narrative.

And by the way -- Rob matched any 2 Rockets in rebounding combined. He was rebounding with FORCE. And Horford's game was even better than Rob's.

Like clockwork. This Tatum lover is getting on my nerves when we all know he loves Brown more.

Tatum. Not too much to complain about except Tatum finally cooled off from 3 and fewer turnovers from Schroder would be nice.

7-3 in their last ten, five straight wins at home. Remember when poster(s) where losing it for starting the season 0-3 at home? Good times.
