crossing over Steph has him the most overrated prospect ever

That game Texas shot like 14% from inside around Chet. More to a game than just points added ask PBJ.

I’m on the side of yes he’s legit it’s more of a question is he a demigod like Giannis/KD which is a no. But he really does have best player potential no question about it.

Still should be a number one type prospect. Advanced skill for a big gives him a good base to work from.

I mean when it’s skill not body over body not skill it usually works out okay in the end.

It’s not like there’s the health juice to get him up to scratch from the med/health doctors.

Averaging 4 assists/2.5 turnovers as we speak.

Ingram went 2 that’s just to give some perspective.
I reckon Chet might actually be what Porzingis was supposed to be.

Ingram/Chet have similar moving characteristics (KD/Giannis betters movers with better motor, Mobley has some of the best twinkle toes though motor isn’t as great).

Say Chet and Ingram are too close to call athletic wise, Chet has him on footwork which is unbelievably important here because he’s the taller one. When your that tall it’s open season.

That’s very much what the best player in the draft looks like imo. It’ll be interesting to see what his bodyshape is between now and the end of College up until draft day.

From the knees down isn’t great so hopefully he doesn’t get too top heavy .

But skillwise? I mean he was always 1st.

Did anyone watch Peyton Watson last night?
Looks like a mini KD the way he pulls up for the mid range jumber.

Wendell Moore has connected two really nice games, showing a real knack for passing. He was a lotto project his freshman year, but underwhelmed. Is hs putting it all together now? Certainly an intriguing older prospect to follow this year.

That kid just passes the eye test to me. Long, bouncy, smart, engaged, has touch, jumper mechanics look good, handle is more than acceptable, anticipates and cuts well, some signs of court vision... All of it is a work in progress but squint and you can see all of it being good at the next level.

If you look at some of the guys who have gotten drafted recently and are getting minutes at the 5 (Evan Mobley, Nic Claxton, Isaiah Jackson), these guys aren't exactly big huge monsters. Diabate has comparable size to all 3 of those guys.

Check out this video, specifically the plays at 1:53 (ability to put the ball on the floor and throw it down like that is impressive for a dude who's 6'11" and is still only in HS, especially with that type of athleticism), 2:33 (flies into the play from out of nowhere, makes the steal, uses long strides to get to the rim with minimal dribbles before throwing it down, 2:52 soft touch on the mid range fadeaway jumper, then the next few plays we see him hitting a bunch of shots from 3), 3:27 faces up from the wing, puts the ball on the floor, gets to rim and dunks it

My highly optimistic high end outcome for Moussa is something like Pascal Siakam but yeah dependent on extensive shot development. Really love his defensive versatility and ofc athleticism but also a really underrated passer. Hopefully Juwan gives him more burn soon.

I’m really starting to buy into Wendell Moore as a first rounder. His jump this year so far is massive. I get that he hasn’t played the strongest competition so far, and maybe he’ll look terrible against Gonzaga on Friday, but he just looks like a different player. His first two years, I thought he was basically unplayable. A walking turnover that couldn’t shoot from anywhere on the floor.

Difficult to see him as merely a first rounder with sustained 17/6/6. Despite being a junior, only a sophomore in age, still gonna be a 20 at draft next year, 21 when season starts.

Some were skeptical of my characterization in an earlier that Moore should be played as a PG in the league. My take is that something clicked for him perhaps due to age. His draft position in the league is a really a PG, not a crappy SG/SF which he failed at being his first two years in college.

If Duke goes far this year, it's gonna be with Moore running the point. My observation is that college teams cannot make deep runs into the tourney without NBA level guard play. Moore and Keels are both NBA caliber guards of some type.

i mean, if he sustains this it's pretty absurd, 31% assist rate on 23 usage, 5.7 assists to less than 2 TOs per game - if this kind of playmaking juice is real then of course he's a 1st rounder.

i don't know if I am buying that it is, that's a pretty odd jump from soph yr to jr year, but if it is then yea, 1st rounder easy. especially if he continues shooting above 50% from the floor.

Keegan Murray is just ridiculously good. Just look at his first three offensive possessions versus Western Michigan. First a nice post move for the nice layup, then a pick-and-pop three as the big, and then an and-1 finish off the drive as the pick-and-roll ball handler. That scoring versatility is just insane. And then on defense, he just plays so smart using his body and verticality to alter shots around the rim while being able to run the press on Guards at the frontline.

Honestly, he has impressed me more than anyone else so far as a prospect. Wish he was a bit younger, of course, but if what he is doing is in any way sustainable – even though the raw production will of course go down – then I'm going to be at the front of pushing for him to be picked at the very top. As teams will inevitably focus on him even more, I hope to see a bit more passing out of him – if he can do that, then all bets are off.

Besides Murray, I also love Jaden Ivey. Even though I have some concerns and he needs to show out in certain areas for me to have him at the very top of the draft, he has an athletic ability and fire you just can't teach. These two Sophomores could make the top of the draft a lot more interesting for me (as I have not been particularly high on this Freshmen class).

Chet reminds me of Karl-Anthony Towns in the fact he is Uber talented and has a tremendous feel for the game. I can't remember the last time a player had this defensive impact, its absurd.

He has questions about his lower body strength but I see his body holding up at the NBA level.

For those who were high on Sengun (I was), how do people think they compare? Would you rather have Chet or Sengun?

I just can’t get behind Chet. The track record for tall white American lottery picks hasn’t been kind over the years. I just picture him getting posterized, and having his ankles broken over and over again when he gets switched onto quick guards.

Chet is just in a different class as a prospect, Alpy was good but more like 8-14 pick, Chet is a legitimate top5 guy.

weird take (per usual)

out of all the things to worry about Chet, getting posterized is probably the last one.
