Blowouts are not as common anymore....Regardless of teams record talent is just getting better and better in the NBA these days. Plus the Rockets have been in a lot of games this season until they just turn it off and tank at end of games lol

Rockets have played quite a bit of teams close. They simply don't play defense though.

If a coach can ever get those young players on the rockets to commit to some defense they could make some noise.

I do expect us to focus a bit more especially in the 4th and put this one away

But this a no night off league. Tanking is not rewarded anymore so teams are going to compete we are not at that point of the season where teams just not showing up that probably happens after after all star break.

My advice with Coby is to just pay attention to your chess game, 2nd screen, or whiskey when he enters the game. He’s especially gonna play against teams like the Rockets, but grand scheme is he’ll get about 10-15 games of good/bad/ugly trial before decisions are made. Dude looks like complete garbage imo besides for the 2 offensive plays he made, but it doesn’t matter. This FO/HC have a pulse of how to win games and afford to figure out their assets.

My take is still that long term he might be fine; his shooting could potentially be very important for our team, but he’s also got a lot of flaws. If he has a hot stretch, imo you have to weigh offers and sell high. If high offers don’t come, then you have to hope he’s ready to shoot, but I wouldn’t put him in the main-8 rotation (Ayo’s noticeably better I think). Either way, he reminds me of the Niko/Lauri/Doug mold where post-draft night expectations were ludicrous compared to actual NBA ceiling.

Coby should not be a ball handler. Never EVER!

He should be standing behind the 3 point line ready to catch the ball. Upon catching it, he must decide within half a second if he's gonna shoot it, drive or pass it. If he drives, he should only try to shoot it if the rim is wide open. If not, pass it over.
