Haha, this is definitely not an occasion where it's better going against the grain.

TBH, if you want to be different, maybe try Harden vs Wade for #3... that has more merit. :D

PG.

Star SG really is a dead position. Remember the times when we all accepted that a passer who is not intimidating by himself, should pound the ball and run offense? Like Erick Snow in Philly or Cleveland? Those days are gone, now the most talented player gets to play point, guys like Harden, Luka, Kyrie arent SGs anymore, they are all point guards by all sense of the word.
Some of them could shoot (Jose Calderon comes to mind), but there were a lot of guys, many of them starting like Snow, that played big minutes and spent loads of time handling the ball mainly to set up offenses. Raymond Felton, Andre Miller, Nate McMillan, Scott Skiles. The Spurs won a championship with an offense where Avery Johnson took up a huge portion of the team's offense setting up their 3 all stars, so it wasn't ineffective. Eric Snow made it to the NBA finals. It does feel completely obsolete though. And I wonder if this is a part of why Mark Jackson didn't understand how to use Steph Curry. Jackson had a solid career playing a position that does not exactly exist anymore.

He Is a point guard and has done nothing to deserve any spot on any top 20 all time list.

Any list of the best shooting guards without Jerry West on it smells funny. And where is Pistol Pete?

T-Mac, Manu, Dumars too low. Iverson too high. Brandon Roy is better than at least a quarter of this list.

I think you could make a case for peak Wade being as good, or even slightly better than peak Kobe. But Kobe's longevity edge is big. Too big for me to ever rank Wade's career over Kobe's.

Well, that explains why Gervin wasn't on the SF list. Fair enough.

I feel like Richmond should be on it and Klay and Manu should be higher.

Harden over Iverson
Allen over Miller
McGrady over Carter
Klay a few spots higher

for me, peak weighs a little heavier than longevity.

It's not my exact list but it's fair, depends on how you view greatness. McGrady was a perennial disappointment, but if you were around in the era as laughable as it sounds he was seen as the best player in the league by a vocal minority at one point, never believed it myself but loved to troll Lakers fans.

Maybe if he won at least one ring and finals mvp, I'd consider it.

But I give Kobe the edge for longevity and Wade is my favorite player. Peak vs peak though, we have a great contest.

What exactly does Klay Thompson have over Sam Jones, Manu, Dumars, Dennis, or Sharman?

This is good. Switch Ray and Gino, almost perfect.

How is Carter on this list?

Have a handful of good seasons (never once top-10 MVP voting) and being a good dunker does not make you an all-timer.

His last 11 seasons were spent as a journeyman scrub.

lmao, people wanting harden above iverson.

what has harden ever done, that AI didnt?

AI played the best duo of all times in the finals BY HIMSELF, dropping 50.

Harden is constantly gaggin in the 2nd round with superstars/All stars on his teams. The disrespect... im shocked
im bout dat action boss

One of the best shots of al time and good defense? Manu is too low for sure though.
