I can never attach specific years to teams so I had to double check .. of course, 2003 was Cassell, Spree, and KG.
A win tonight would tie us for the sixth longest winning streak in franchise history, and a 7th straight win would tie us for fourth. It’s amazing the records for consecutive wins is so low, when the Timberwolves lost EIGHTEEN consecutive games in 2011.

It's incredible what winning streaks can do. We were down and dead, ready to throw the season and now we're back to compete for the playoffs. Post-KG it felt for me like 3 game winning streaks were our limit and now we're talking about winning 6 in a row.
awesome.
awesome.

It's also incredible what good defense does. Even when our offense goes to s***, our defense is keeping us in games. I mean of course I knew about that connection, but to expierience it now first hand with our wolves after being a bad defensive team all those years is something else

Good question.
My guess is Beasely?
D’Lo, Beasely, Ant, Vando, KAT should hold up.

A smart Finch will replace JMAC with Nowell, Prince with Bolmaro, and will start Beasley. I want MCD but we need to protect him foul trouble, and you cannot start JO because of V8 but V8 is much higher priority than JO because of rebounding.
I said it another thread and will restate it here. We are the fourth ranked defense playing the 21st ranked defense and the 18th ranked offense playing the 12th ranked offense. We should have the advantage. KAT will probably have a bounce back game as well so tonight should be fun.

I agree I would like to see Nowell for JMaC but would prefer to give Prince some more time to find his groove. Think he is close to being a positive contributor for us

Based on what? He is 32.8% from the field, 23.8% from 3. He averages 1.8 rebounds and .7 assists and .4 steals and .1 blocks. I cannot see any value at all 18 games in.

I marvel at teams who frequently pull off 4-6 game win streaks. It is such a rare phenomenon to us. Then there are teams that have these 8-10 game streaks which are just insane. If we hit 6 for the first time in 17 years, what a sign that things are turning around for this franchise.
We aren't there yet, it will take many many games and moves to be very good, but we may be on the path. We may have the blueprint. For the first time in years and may be swimming somewhere instead of just treading water.

I still remember a time, I think it was David Kahn’s first season, where we had 4 game winning streak with a team that only won 16 total games on the season. It was kind of amazing, but it’s also the reason I would like to see a few more wins in a row before I get excited.

Before the season I was telling you guys 3 things.
1. Young teams get better by virtue of age and experience.
2. Defense gets better when you have something to play for.
3. Good coaching makes a world of difference and there is a big difference between taking over mid season (in a condensed season with no practice time,) and having a full offseason/preseason to work with guys.
This team has not even come close to hitting its stride. As good as you guys see Ant playing now I still think he is closer to his floor than ceiling. He is so much Goddamn potential, and I think he will get there. Right now he kinda reminds me of the good Wiggins before Butler. The one who could not win it by himself, but with KAT he could take over games. Give him proper coaching and help him develop toward his strength (attacking, drive and kick, getting to line, ect…) and he will be what we so desperately wanted Wiggins to be. Add to that dead weight in Prince, up and down (mostly down) seasons from Dlo and Beasley, and a lack of size, the deck is stacked. But, so much of that is fixable, and we are holding our own despite it. Finch is the guy, the core is there, you are seeing the beginning of the ascent now. One good move and the ascent will speed up, one great move and watch your head.

The Hornets are on fire right now. We all know how good Lamello is but this is a team that is really rolling hard. Last time I checked they were 5-7 Now they won 7 of their last 8, including their own 5 game win streak. Some of those are close games, they have proven to be fairly clutch.
If we want to make history and win 6 straight we are going to have to work for it. No Pat Bev tonight. Also Towns needs to keep his head on straight and play under control, the refs are not tolerating any of his aggressive moves.

I think I know what went wrong last time. Against the Pels KAT played better because he was caffeinated. Against the Heat Finch probably over caffeinated KAT so he played too aggressive. Solution, caffeinate KAT just the right amount. Once we find that sweet Goldilocks zone KAT will become Super KAT and solve all his problems

KAT is going to have 35 and 20 tonight. We are really, really bad as far as rebounding and rim protection.

Vando is our main rebounder, and Edwards is our main rim attacker, so it's more like those two guys will likely feast if those are your issues. KAT will do some damage too, but he's not attacking the rim a lot relative to his position, and he's not an elite rebounder either.

Wolves are the worst rebounding team in the league

You take your reverse psychology and scram. We’re far too seasoned in losing to know how well it works.
Congrats on your win tonight!
