Nothing special about him I'll give him no props.

Literally hundred + better seasons by players you've never even heard of more than 7.3ppg a season. Once he gets past Jr bremer, or say bulbs ehler, or Howie Shannon or hell Greg Monroe let me know because otherwise he is garbage to me. I can't wait to get him off my team personally.

His ceiling is starter, not rotation player. That’s his floor, the question is how good a rotation player he can be. Great defense, 40+% from 3, smart decisions, that’s a nice piece. Don’t think he can grow as a rebounder but it’s possible. Light playmaking? Think he’s got some upside as a midrange shooter and an occasional post-up threat. Best case comp at the draft was PJ Tucker. We will see.

Grant is a nice player and solid as hell. It's become a thing where the people who don't like him already made up their mind that he sucks. So they get so caught up in their confirmation bias and ignore all the good stuff. Kid is a terrific role player and does his job very well. Happy he's a Celtic.

Edit: I know people were mad that he got kinda fat last season, but if you missed it, it was actually the team that told him to add weight. They wanted him guarding centers. Then they saw that the weight gain diminished his game, and he got himself right back into shape and he's having a great year. Point being he's been doing what the team asks of him.

I guess he's earned his draft position, which I didn't expect when they first called his name, and he's likely to outperform his rookie deal, hooray.

Only one NBA player is currently shooting 75+% from within 8 feet of the rim, 40+% from 8-16 ft, and 40+% from 24+ ft.

You have three guesses.

Only one NBA player is currently shooting 50-40-90, minimum 200 mins.

Three guesses.

No doubt Grant has proved a lot of people wrong... I had him down as G league Williams for a while. Happy to see he's improved a significant amount.

Grant being a 50/40/90 guy and contributing productive minutes consistently has been my favorite thing about the season so far. Really happy for Grant. He's proving a lot of people wrong, including me. Love to see it.

Would be nice for Tatum to start shooting well.

Grant Williams shooting .434 on 3.4 3PA per game is better than Larry Bird's best three point shooting season of .414 on 3.1 3PA per game.

Fun fact, if you remove the minutes requirement there's still only 5 players that shoot 50/40/90 at the NBA level. Grant Williams is obviously first in total points scored among the five. Jabari Parker is second.

At the G-League level among 50/40/90 scorers, the leader in total points scored is Theo Pinson. Sam Hauser is second.

I don't know what the takeaway from that is

Play JP and call up Sam. Nah but really, we can't get guys minutes as is, no one else is getting a real shot. This is it.

Grant is basically Semi with shooting touch and an ability to block shots. In other words, a really good 3-and-D guy.

He leaves something to be desired in the playmaking department (which can be said of basically the whole team save Horford) but definitely turning himself into an asset. Keep it up over the rest of the year and he's certainly a guy you'd want to try to extend on a deal here in the offseason. Not sure who the comp would be best but I'd love to have him under an affordable 3-4 year extension deal at this point.

I felt Grant was going to be our most improved player going into last season. I was off by a year. The short offseason play year hurt him.

Grant has improved and is still improving. He needs one big game like 25 points or more soon, where his confidence goes to another level. He was a big time player at Tennessee but that hasn't translated yet. But he is slowly getting there.

Happy for Grant's improvements. He needs to keep going.

Well, I thought he was gonna be a bust. Not quick enough to guard wings and not long/tall enough to battle bigs. Losing the weight has done him well along with the further improvement of his 3 pt shot.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

Read on Twitter

Once our stars are ready to win a title (or we acquire stars who are), Grant's gonna be our PJ Brown.
