Thibs basically said this in so many words, which must pain the man.

Inconsistent physically and mentally. They don't know how to maintain intensity.

Phoenix is better, but it's because they did everything at full speed and focus. That's something that you don't need skill for.

It starts with our backcourt and then trickles down. Kemba for all of his offensive talents is soft defensively and Fournier, too.

It pains me to say it, but as much as a scrub as Peyton was, he didn't back down defensively from anyone and it set that tone for us. His problem was that he was complete garbage in every other category. And Bullock didn't back down either. That part of their game was part of our identity and we clearly don't have it now.

Idgaf that Kemba from NY. I don’t like his mentality or demeanor. He just happy to be here. No edge. No sense of urgency. Smiling with opposing players all the time. He is like the anti-McBride. He be hugging everyone in the league. Someone said it best when they said Kemba carrying it like it’s a farewell tour. I get those vibes from him too.

Yeah. I honestly hate this era of everyone being so buddy-buddy. When you're on the court, you're the enemy to me. Do all of that smiling and foolishness when you beat them after the game.

It does feel like he's not taking this opportunity of playing for his home team that seriously. We need him to lay it all out there, not just suit up.

Kemba just said “you can tell that team really plays for each other.”

Knicks players keep saying stuff like this about other teams. Seems like shots fired on the slick. They gotta be lowkey saying their own team doesn’t. At least not for a sustained period.

Besides Quickley and Rose, no one else consistently has a fiery competitive edge.

Need to make serious roster roves, especially for some backcourt talent. No player or pick is off the table.

OBI and and Burls have some of that too. But I have mixed feelings, Startung 5 has terrible chemistry but I like our youth off the bench. Its kinda of a silver lining because Rokas is looking good too.

Our starters are all pretty moveable so I think I can tolerate whatever comes out of this season.

The Warriors look good too so maybe I wont have to watch the Nets raise a banner.

IQ needs to start but we know Thibs aint doing it because he's afraid to demote a vet. It took him a whole season of watching Elfrid's putrid play and being on the brink of being eliminated from the playoffs before he finally benched Elfrid.

Yes, and he really needs to. Kemba isn't a starter anymore and should come off the bench in spurts. It would honestly be the best decision Thibs could make because Kemba and Rose can light up the second unit with Obi.

A backcourt of Kemba and D-Rose is flat out awful defensively. He needs to go on prolonged "load management". Give those minutes to Grimes to play along D-Rose.

was out tonight so wasn't able to catch the game but was checking in.

I need to watch it but it just seems like we are a significantly worse team than last year mostly do to play regression and our defense is crap. I honestly don't know what we can do to turn this around.

Reminder that were 1-1 in the playoffs when he benched elfrid and the loss was a buzzer beater. The other 3 games without him we got blown out. And it wasn’t so he could give IQ expanded minutes either, he just ran Rose’s legs off

The new acquisitions have been subtweeting the legacy starters quite a bit the last few weeks

Ugh, you're right. It's a shame because his defensive weaknesses put us in a tough position of when and how we can play him.

You can't completely demote him to non-playing status if he's not hurt because it could look bad on us to agents/potential FAs, but you can't play him a lot because of what he gives up on one end.

The tough answer is pull Kemba.

I got a hard on everytime Sims rebounds, he reminds me of Orlando Dwight Howard with his athleticism, hops, and broad shoulders. How is he not playing?

I kinda see Randle trying, but the chemistry and BBall IQ from the starting unit just isnt there. Credit the Suns..they look every bit like top contenders for sure but....

For a bit we were evenly trading blows with them......and no Rose or Taj.

This team starting lineup reminds be of a lawnmower that is humming along then gets jammed up.

But I think we'll be ok. If not the weak spots on this team will be identified and can be moved in the long term.

His defensive awareness really needs work. It's almost like every game you can see him losing his man on a pick and roll for an easy basket at least once.

Looking at the schedule, the Knicks could be staring at a serious slide.

we know that aint happening. He didn't pull payton until thibs was getting exposed in the playoffs for playing him.
