Smith could develop into one of the best in the draft, he's only 18.

Ivey looked good today.

I'm still a Chet skeptic, at least at pick 1. His frame is too big a question mark for the top pick. Maybe later on in the draft he could do but he's like a consolation prize.

Jabari Smith is my #1 choice. The only thing that's stopping him from being a high-end #1 pick is that he's a big guy who plays the outside better than the inside. If he was a big guy who would clean the glass, protect the rim really well and then also look like he does on the perimeter that would be something.

Having said that, maybe he is that guy but I just haven't seen it.

The problem here is that Smith would be a 3rd stringer on this roster, without a trade being made. And that's the rub for me in the Magic drafting yet another forward.

Then you just make trades! This isn't some insane concept. If you draft someone and they're good, then you get rid of the player or players in front of them.

So you rank Smith over Isaac AND Okeke? There is "some" talent on this roster. And there is no player in this coming draft I would "guarantee" would be better than all of the current Magicians.

There’s a very good chance Smith could end up better than Okeke, yes. And Isaac hasn’t played in a year and a half.

But that isn’t the point. You don’t take existing players on the roster into consideration when you’re making picks with a few exceptions (if you have an all star center, you wouldn’t want to take a center when they can’t share the floor).

You take the best talent available and figure out how to balance the roster with trades as necessary.

Well, Banchero is playing well against Gonzaga. He wouldn't be a consolation prize at #1.

Right now, I feel like we can't go wrong with a top 2 pick. After that, it becomes dicier.

Banchero looks like the next great Dukie bust in the NBA.

Don’t care how good he plays in this game.

I’m not sure if Banchero can do anything but score at the next level, but he’s certainly an impressive skillful scorer.

Dukies have a high bust potential in the NBA and the ones that do pan out like Kyrie, Ingram, Tatum, and Barrett max out as 2nd bananas.

Banchero in particular looks like your classic tweener and with his reported 1:1 height to wingspan and I just don’t see it with him.

He rebounds like he belongs on the magic... and I don't mean that as a compliment

So.... Chet or Paolo? We really need a scorer though... so Paolo?

Ok if we draft Chet, let's give him the BBD food plan. If we draft Paolo, just prepare an IV every halftime and plug him in.

Banchero's first half was special but it's weird that he cramps up so much.

Chet is cooked. He needs others to create for him on offence and, again, that frame isn't that promising on defence. Heaps of people on the draft board are calling it out now and the media will surely follow soon enough.

I am not overly impressed by any player right now. Holmgren looks legit, but his frame is scary. Banchero shows some iso potential but that is not very useful in the nba outside very few players. He is not dominating going to the rim and his vision is average at best. Jabari Smith seems like safe pick but most of his looks are somewhat stationary.
I like Keegan Murray but he is older and Ivey but he is smallish combo guard.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

I am overly bored with draft, it has become a sole reason we follow the Magic. Always forward look to who we might draft and dream of what he might look like once he reaches NBA. A dream that withers and dies by January when we already have another dream on it's way. That does not make basketball team and is not basketball to me.

Honestly, I'm liking the likely trade value of an unprotected top 3 pick more than any of the guys we're discussing there.
