Beal just stopping the ball and getting terrible shots for his team on each occasion.

KCP with POTG performances on both ends of the court.

Incremental improvement. At least we didn't settle for threes all night long and we played some good defense in stretches.

Can't be happy with 15 turnovers. Most in the second half I assume. Until that number goes down (OKC had 9), we're going to struggle against everyone.

With the game on the line, Beal dribbles the air out of the ball and passes to KCP at the last second for a rushed 3 point shot. We were extremely lucky to win this game. Lucky OKC has lots of garbage players.

Both Dinwiddie and Beal are struggling with how they call fouls now. So far, pretty much failing to adjust, 20 games into the season. Both have A+ complaining to the refs games tho.

Loved seeing Bertans getting kicked in the nuts. A moment of pain for him, a lifetime of joy for me (disclaimer - glad he's not hurt, etc.).
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

We need Rui back asap or we need MVP Brad. It feels like we are missing another gear that good teams have. Even when we had bad teams, we had another gear at times because the Franchise player could go off at any time but Beal has been basic pretty much all year.

Im vaccinated and just got my booster but Idc what other people do. However, when you don't get the Vax, catch covid, and have looked like a different player for a whole quarter of the season, it's making me feel some type of way even if that's a reach. I'm just frustrated.. Lol

I guess the good thing as Wiz fans is at least we are getting frustrated with mostly wins now instead of our record being in reverse

I think it's pretty amazing to be 12-7 and tied for 3rd in the East with both Beal & Dinwiddie struggling big time and having absolutely no on court chemistry with each other.

Our defense however is stingy af most nights and is among the league's best. It shows how much good defense can compensate for what amounts to an offensive train wreck.

Yeah, there's a ridiculous amount of negativity in these game threads.

Let's face it. The Wizards don't have a lot of talent. Vegas had them at 32.5 wins this year. The fact that they're 12-7 with Beal having arguably the worst season of his career and 3 other key players out of the lineup is a reason for optimism. The team definitely has some weaknesses, but the sky isn't falling.

The team has only one bad loss all season (to the Pelicans). All other losses were to teams with winning records at the time (like Toronto), or have winning records now (like Atlanta).

I’m with Dat on this. Amazed that we are 12-7/3rd in EC with
Beal/Din so mediocre. We almost lost, so close on the last shot
but also remember there was an obvious travel by the inbounder
that fortunately ended up not mattering. But it was so obvious
you wonder what the refs are looking at.

A couple of random thoughts - they really could call a lane violation
on nearly every single FTA.

Great game with all the blocks by Gaff. But he was obviously out of
bounds on one where he had to save it in bounds.

Re our guard rotation - maybe Deni playing more could push more
of KCP’s minutes into the backcourt, especially when Rui returns
(Whenever that ends up being).

Bertans’ return sucks for Kispert. Hard for a rookie to adapt to
the league without PT. Bertans’ shooting is still off (like last year)
and the narrow margin for success we have makes letting him
play when he’s struggling harder to do. DB is doing more non shooting
things this year though. Are the Wiz showcasing him? He is arguably
our worst contract right now.

It seems like the team tends to overpass when good shots are there.
Several players a guilty of this, being too unselfish. That said,
there have also been times when the quick openish shots have
hurt us as well.

It’d be nice to see Din attack the rim more often. One wonders if
he is playing ‘safe’ after a lost season to injury. How will he be
playing in Feb-Mar? Neto figures to revert to a somewhat better mean.
He has stunk. Holiday I’ll give a little more slack as he seems to defend
better. But his offense, as a PG directing the team, seems poor.

Nate33...you know the wiz fans love their team...win or lose. Guys have been riding with this team and posting on this board during the leanest of years....the negativity is based on the team playing down to teams in the loses and a few of the wins.

Honestly Trez, Beal, Gaf,Rui, dindin, Deni, Kuz,Bertans, Bryant, KCP playing their B game could make the wiz a top 4 in playoff team. I actually love this current roster because when they play together they are special.

It’s just the defense has regressed and the offense hasn’t improved...

Suppose someone had checked in here the day before the season began & said, "guys I finally found my crystal ball, but it might be broken. I mean... it says that on the morning of 11/27 we'll be 12-7. What do you think? Is it busted? Should I take it in to be repaired?"

I'm pretty sure everyone would have voted to have someone work on that crystal ball. No one thought we'd have this record -- not even if Brad were playing at his accustomed level.

Doesn't mean we'll maintain it, of course -- we started the 2014-15 season19-6, then we went 27-30 the rest of the way. But... it's still a good thing!
