I think the young man has decided to play in the reg season and if he keeps this up he will be battling Jimmy and Lebron or whomever else shows up for the 5th all nba 1st team spot

Why doesn’t he get more love here with these numbers?

Don’t you remember that song “ice tray” by migos that was popular when he was a rookie? It seems fitting especially because he plays for an Atlanta team.

No rapper ever chose to call themselves ice tray, so I think you have your answer.

fwiw his effectiveness at the rim is basically the same as last year and a bit worse than in year 2.

But I'm not here to pour cold water on Trae. He's one hell of an offensive player leading the best offense in the league(which has flown totally under the radar btw).

I've noticed that as well. The "new and improved" layup package and midrange jumper he worked on during the offseason are already having an impact on his efficiency. He worked on his 3ptr as well, but I think his improvement there has more to do with shot selection. I honestly believe he's going to end this season in the top five in scoring and assists.

But we do have one who went with Travis Scott, which sounds like a suburban white kid.

Because they were much much worse (both personal and team numbers) up until now. And i wouldn't say he is close to 50/40/90 either.

You wouldn’t say he is pushing 50,40,90
STATS
Regular Season

GP MIN FG% 3P% FT% REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS
20 33.5 46.5 38.6 90.0 3.6 9.2 0.1 0.9 1.7 3.9 25.6

3.5 and 1.4 % off is pushing it...I didn’t say he had it.

But give this man his due...people had the hawks as the losers in the Luka trade and honestly Trae holding his own by all accounts and is flat out out playing Luka this year.

MIN FG% 3P% FT% REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS
35.2 43.3 31.3 69.2 8.4 8.0 0.7 1.3 2.4 4.3 25.0

Trae is small and takes bad shots and is careless with the ball- fg% up and he is getting more assist and less TOs than Luka The God...and Trae was whinnying about the rules and losing games to start the year. Made the horrible comment about the regular season...got crushed for it and responded. The hawks winning and this man is leading the charge.

And it’s not about Trae vs Luka...Trae keep this up and he is going to creep into the next tier that Luka isn’t in this year.

Give this man his due...Trae balling

Great post my man :D

Just looking a Jokic and Trae and thinking REALGM ain’t even consistent - the best player too boring so he doesn’t get the love he deserves...but then TRAE is never boring and is an absolute showmen but doesn’t get his due either.

The board has its favorites and some people just seem to be under rated no matter what they do.

I think it’s cool to have favorites (John wall my favorite player and I would rather watch him over anyone) but when asking who is the best you have to be objective (John wall was never the best PG) - if Curry the best point then Trae saying with this year’s performance that he got next...if he waiting that long...dude has improved...we gotta recognize it

It's wild. I'm a middle-aged dude now, so I haven't been cool for a while, but it seems like one of the best parts of being a rapper would be coming up with a stage name. The Wu-Tang Clan all sound like superheroes.

As for me, I love the guy and think he's an elite talent. Don't be shocked when he enters the top 5 in the NBA in a few years.

Agreed-

Love Beal but Trae getting that East start this year or the NBA needs to hire mike lindell to investigate the vote

Agreed...when I think “Travis Scott performance” I think more like classical piano than devilish hip hop...but alas the good ole days of ODB and the Ghost Face

Its his midrange game that has really improved. Its a reach on my part; but the midrange shot is where he collected a lot of his drive and stop fouls. I am thinking he worked on the shot just in case they stopped giving him those calls

The Hawks are 3rd in offensive rating for the season. They are 2nd since November 1st, just behind the Warriors. Trae is the leader of their offense and deserves a all star game. Period, end of story.

He's saying Trae could potentially have a 50/40/90 season because he's shooting 46.7%/38.6%/90% for the season right now.

The best part of the new rules is how the stars have now become better shot makers overall in general. Harden at a career high from 3 and averaging 10 assists per game, trae reaching the same TS% despite less fts. Lillard hitting a ton of interesting midrange shots now, Tatum getting physical inside.

Yea he doesnt need to average those numbers to be considered great. Just needs to continue doing what hes doing.

I ain’t doubting that man....again sleeping on him while he improves....those stats just prove he is taking better shots.
