Thats optimistic, but there is a chance. I think they are a bubble team ATM.

Chet 1 and Mathurin w/ the LAC pick (If as high as you hope)

G - SGA
G - Mathurin
F - Giddey
F - Poku (Maybe)
C - Chet

It's definitely a "hot take" but think LAC will be worse than expected, and some of these West teams to be better than expected

That line up would blow my mind.

It really comes down to when Kawhi will come back and if PG13 will stay healthy.

If PG13 is healthy, I have LAC finishing between 8 and 12 in the West. He's really really good right now but they are still limited. 3-4 weeks without him and they are screwed.

Kawhi probably gonna come back before the end of the RS though :(

Shai is very very good. Giddey looks like he's going to have the floor of a high end starter/borderline all star. Obviously depends on what pick and for what player but as of today I'd gladly include a top 3 in a trade for KAT or Jaylen Brown. Would do anything lower for someone like Deandre Hunter if Atlanta needs some relief from their future cap.

I'm not really feeling being a laughing stock this year. Especially if the only real difference is like 4% on whether we land in the top 4.

That's reasonable. This team can improve as the season goes on, even if the Thunder is destined for a major surge, I wouldn't touch KAT at all.

I disagree. Giddey's play has encouraged me to keep supporting the tank through this year. If Poku emerges this year (big IF), and we add a top 3 pick, THEN I'd be willing to bring someone in next offseason.

I get not loving the media takes. I felt the same way for a bit - but then Mo Dahkil's rant was so blatantly emotional (and non-rational) that it pushed me over the edge.

It's become clear that people just dislike OKC. I don't know why. But it doesn't matter what we do, they'll never cover us in a positive light. So **** 'em.

I think that's about right. In the West, OKC, NOP, SAS, HOU will all be worse. Then I think one of MIN, POR, SAC will fall behind LAC.

I also think that the East will be better than the West this year.

I think ATL is going to hold tight to Hunter since they have deep playoff aspirations, but I do wonder if Reddish could be had. OKC has the assets to get him, ATL has a crowded roster of youngsters and likely isnt going to pay him and Hunter after paying Huerter.

He is raw, but he has shown great flashes on both sides of the ball and is only 22. He could easily be the middle piece in a long term G-G-F starting unit of SGA / Reddish / Giddey.

Another thought would be to see if IND is willing to take a picks package for Turner. Something like Favors, 2022 LAC FRP, 2023 DEN FRP, 2024 OKC SRP for Turner. OKC has the picks to sell, and while not the ideal age Turner is young enough and is a great fit at C.

Haha yeah I mentioned Turner on our trade thread last night. Think he'd be a nice fit and would give us some much needed rim protection. Extension eligible after this season too and still just 25.

Reddish seems interesting. ATL has an inevitable salary crunch coming so it's all gonna depend on who offers what. I just like Hunter more as of this moment and think he can be really really good.

Bummer of a win last night. I don't mind winning against some of the better teams, but hate helping San Antonio's lottery odds.

Another tough win. These will really come back to bite us.

I said it last year and I’ll say it again: our org culture is just too strong to fully tank. Now, SGA is too good to fully tank. We need to pick a direction and fast.

Mostly this. SGA was bad last two games and we still won. The OKC tank narrative is so stupid and we badly try to win games. We will probably end up with a bottom 5-6 record instead of 1-2.

Next offseason feels about time to pick a direction. if Giddey is legit, we have already 3 NBA players in Shai, Giddey and Dort (as a 5th/6th best player in a good team) so we could make one or two big trades.

Not sure I trust the other young guys that much going forward...maybe one of them can be a legit starter if we are lucky.

Shai needs a bounce back game real bad. After that last Laker game it looked like he was about to go supernova. Teams are packing the paint on his drives and he's hardly getting any attempts at the rim.

GIDDEY: It's only a question of time, when he will realize his first triple-double.

J Kyle is one of maybe 3 good basketball brains at the ringer. Vid was good too. Fair and honest critique from someone whose watched our team.

Still don't have Giddey in the same tier as Mobley and a couple of other players but this is pretty good

I don't really care if it's through trade or the draft but assessing everyone's play this season we really really need to upgrade this team's physicality factor somehow. Think right now it's a group that's willing to be mentally tough but their actual physical selves leave a lot to be desired. Dort is obviously a tank but we need a true blue physical dominator manning at least one front court position. Dallas without Luka tonight were top to bottom more imposing (outside of the Trey Burke minutes). Porzingis was non-stop in Bazely/Muscala's ears and rightfully so.

A really rough night for Giddey just concluded so this isn't coming from the most balanced POV right now but:

Where's his scoring going to improve with time? Right now the only reliable stuff from him seems to be his (short range) floater to attack the drop. Crashes the O boards well enough I guess. His J is just so so bad and the trail block that DFS got on him tonight had me putting my head in my hands. I mean he had all kinds of daylight and space to make sure he got an easy one and couldn't deliver. He gets swatted so much that I'm not sure he really has much craft or variety in his finishing arsenal.

Depressing season right now. Dort is the only really good thing so far (well and Giddey being worth a 6th pick in the draft)

Poku to the Blues. Think it's good because he was barely playing.
