The win over PHI has us tied for the 6th-7th spot in the West.

PHI, on the other hand, has lost 8 of their last 10, are 9th-10th, and only a half game above missing the play in at 11th.

Ben Simmons and Morey? Well done. Keep on strangling each other,.

tbf Philly were missing Embiid and Tobias for most of those 10 games and iirc most of those games were on a West Coast trip...now that they are almost close to healthy, they will probably go on a run

Mavs lost against Wizards after blowing a big lead...as it stands, Wolves are only 1 game behind 5th place Mavs

I honestly believe, IF HEALTHY, we can be the 4th seed. Warriors & Suns are a gonna be top 2, I think Clippers will be 3rd if Kawhi comes back soon. Then, 4-8 is ours for the taking, but I want no part of the play-in...we gotta aim for 6 or higher.

6th seed so far as of Nov 29 at 11-10.

Mavs might lose big to the Cavs & Clippers game is still on

A .500 record could actually get you the 8th seed in the West this year based on what we're seeing so far. If the Wolves can keep up our current level of play there's a possibility to could even avoid the play-in. It's terrifying to think this way mind you

Mavs lost badly against Cavs and Clippers are now down by 21 against Pelicans in 2nd Quarter...if Clippers loss, then Wolves,Mavs, Clippers will all be having similar record and tied between 4th-6th seeds

The 10 teams seem to be separating themselves from the other five, but now it's about positioning 4-10. Crazy that home-court advantage isn't a far-fetched outcome.

I had my preseason tiers pegged pretty well so far, save for both the Lakers and Nuggets (who have both dealt with injuries)

Spoiler:
Klomp wrote:Tier 1A
Suns
Jazz
Nuggets

Tier 1B
Lakers
Warriors
-----
Tier 3
Clippers
Mavericks
Blazers
Grizzlies
Wolves
-----
Tier 4
Spurs
Pelicans
Kings
-----
Tier 5
Thunder
Rockets

Any team can finish anywhere within a respective tier (including between 1A and 1B)

We’re a quarter into the season and have only played 1 division game? That’s weird

Cavs have only played one too. Few teams with 2 or 3. Most with 5-6

Multiple talking heads said on NBA podcasts today that the Wolves weren't going to be a play-in team, which fine but they are saying this after the Wolves go on a 4-game win streak and the other 3 teams vying for that last play-in spot (SAC, SAN, NO) all had horrible weeks and look like tanking candidates more than anything at the moment..

If I were a betting man, I would put money on the Wolves making the play-in tournament.

I don't expect us to make the play in either. We should be at least the 6th seed. :D

Kawhi is not expected back until the very end of the season if at all.

Our margin for error has basically disappeared, but we're still right in the thick of the race. Reading back posts from the past week or so, one would think we're like 5 games out of the 10th seed right now.

Next 4 game against teams that could split the difference in seeding at the end of the year.

Nuggets, Lakers, Mavericks x2 .. Need all 4 of those tbh

Still sitting in 9th, but more importantly, we're picking up key wins against teams we're in contention with for playoff seeding.

Against the current 6-12 teams in the West, we are 6-1

2-0 vs. Lakers
1-1 vs. Nuggets
1-0 vs. Kings
1-0 vs. Blazers
1-0 vs. Spurs

Minnesota is one game back from the fifth seed. Avoiding the play-in game is fully possible.

Won all 4 of these games, lol. Really good news for us.

Mavs, Jazz, Celtics, Knicks, Jazz to end the year.

Both Jazz games will be tough, but I can honestly see us beating all of them to end 2021.

JO is the third wolf to enter Covid protocols, he won’t be the last. A lot of these games comes down to whose available. We could just easily end the year on a down note. That said, any of these teams could get blown up by Covid and make the game much easier. Crazy season.
