This argument might hold water if he was given too big a role for real. But he's averaging 14 minutes per game, putting him at 12th in playing time. For a team that hasn't got many bigs, that's as little as it gets. Signing him at all was a mistake, no two ways about it.

I have no idea why anyone would say someone playing over a quarter of a game on a nightly basis is “as little as it gets”

Because AD keeps shying away from playing proper center and Dwight Howard is equally washed as Deandre? Who else do you think is gonna play center for the Lakers? But don't let facts get in the way of your smilies that make any argument great.

AD is playing 70% of his minutes at C this year, and Dwight is pretty easily a better player than Deandre.

They have an open roster spot, nothing is stopping them from signing someone else. Again the problem isn’t that they signed DeAndre, it’s that they’re giving him a role bigger than 0 rotation minutes. I don’t really know what argument you’re trying to get into that has you so flustered about this

You're arguing that signing Deandre Jordan was somehow fine and they've simply given him too many minutes, even though their only other bench center is a 36-yo Dwight Howard. I'm just saying that you're wrong and they should never have signed Jordan, because he's a complete waste of space.

I'll let you know after I figure out why we added Westbrook... I'm hoping that will come to me after I figure out who stole AD's heart, or why Caruso on a discount was distasteful...

Westbrook is a head scratcher to me. They needed a shooter or someone that free up offense with more dynamic playing style.

Couldn't they have gotten Robin Lopez or something? I know he's making twice as much ($5 million to $2.6) but he's at least twice as good as DJ.

He used to be an All Star. LeGm is trying to set the record for assembling the most current and former All Stars on one roster.

When they had Dwight Howard and McGee they enjoyed bullying their opponents bigmen. It worked for them during the Denver series in the playoffs. So, I believe they wanted to have the option again, and a big that you know the -/+'s with.

Should they not give all of DeAndre's minutes to Dwight? Dwight barely plays so he could easily take on those minutes.

He's actually been pretty good. Averaging 5ppg and 6rebs in only 14 minutes per night. If he played 28 minutes he'd average 10 and 12. Pretty decent. But either way, Ariza will start over him when he returns.

G - Westbrook [35]/Nunn [21]/Rondo
G - Bradley [20]/Monk [15]/Ellington
F - James [34]/THT [24]
F - Ariza [20]/Anthony [23]
C - Davis [36]/Howard [12]/Jordan

IR: Baze, Reaves
2 - way: Brown JR., Huff

Cause for whatever reason, Pelinka wanted to recreate the 2020 lakers model of having two shot blocking bigs. For one, DAJ is no longer the shot blocker he once was. And even then, the lakers didn’t win in 2020 with any of those centers when it came to the finals. Dwight was only played in the WC finals and was only used to bully Jokic and use up fouls. There was absolutely no reason they should’ve signed DAJ, he’s been disaster.

Is this to make a point that stats can mislead? Because he's been horrendous. 14 min feel like 30.

I don’t get why they don’t just give Dwight a bigger role. He always seems to do fine for them, yet they always bring in someone who is similar to him that’ll cap his minutes.

Unfortunately Dwight fouls so much that he really can’t play much more than his current 14 mpg. Also, Dwight is better than DJ but not by the huge margin most seem to think. He hasn’t been as good as he was for us in 19-20.

Lob City 2.0, while the Clippers are moving next to the Forum with a cool arena. Lol
