Like Canada's soccer team is currently doing now for Qatar 22 , this is the first window for Canada to qualify for The Fiba 2023 World Cup. Given the circumstances a pretty solid team.

The Bahamas kept it close most of the 1st quarter until Canada went on a 3-point blitz in the last couple of minutes. Canada still needs to tighten up its D. Too many easy bucket for the Bahamas, especially early.

Much better second quarter by Canada. With the exception of a couple of plays, they really locked down on D.

Sure, Canada hit a ton of 3s, but most of them were very good shots in the flow of the offence, many coming off of skip passes when the Bahamas loaded up one side of the court too much. Great to see that kind of cohesion and trust in teammates for a group of guys who haven't had that much time together to practice.

Canada up 62-38 at the half.

Dan Shulman is so impressive, rhyming off names of future Canadian stars knows where the CIS players played, and what high school or prep school. This on top of knowing so much about NCAA ball and the MLB. Low key, glib, so well-spoken, understated, always the right thing to say. I'd be thrilled if he could replace matt Devlin like, tomorrow.

To be fair, doing NCAA games for so long, he's familiar with a lot of the players already.

I know, 25 years he mentioned near the end. But still he was referring to guys' club teams in Europe, CEBL teams, prep schools. He's a pro, he did some homework. It impresses me because he's worked at the highest level for ESPN in
baseball and college hoops but still bothers to do a great job on this lower level stuff.

Anyway, bring him home Raptors.

Raps current broadcasts are unbearable with clowns Devlin and Jack and the awkward Alvin.

Is he still doing NCAA regularly, or has he stopped that the way he gave up Sunday Night baseball on espn? Because I kind of assume he couldn't do Raptors games because of his NCAA gig. But here he is sitting in a Toronto studio doing team Canada qualifying games, so why not the Raptors?

I know Devlin built a following and a lot of goodwill from the championship, but I am so ready for him to be replaced. Shulman could work with Alvin the way he was making Jevohn Shepherd bearable last night. I forget too, that Shulman did do the Raps back in the day, until I catch him on Raps TV like last night doing game with TMac and VC with Brian Heaney.
