we're doing a good job at penetrating into the paint, but toronto is collapsing like crazy every time we do so. we keep either turning it over or throwing up weak a%% shots.

what we need more of are plays like the one where Jaylen penetrated, the defense collapsed and he kicked it out to Grant for a 3. That play was awesome.

We need to be ready to kick it to open man as soon as their defense collapses - and when one of our guys drives, the other 4 guys need to be getting themselves open so the driver has someone to kick it to when their defense collapses.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Reason why there was no foul was because time expired.

If there was more than 1 second on the clock, that would've been a foul.

This squad doesn't work...there has been multiple seasons worth of proof of this. This team needs a massive shakeup as there is a tremendous paucity of talent. Only green teamers would say otherwise.

Massive shakeup with a new HC and a new system, with Brown missing multiple games and us generally not being healthy at all so far.

Just calm down.

What does that have anything to do with the lack of shooting and size on this team that has been going on for multiple seasons now? Or the blown draft picks year after year? Seriously, where is the upside in this roster? Why are you happy with being an annual contender for the play in tournament (at best)?

I think at this point it's flat out ignorant to NOT question the core of Tatum, Brown and Smart. It's been years now. I'm not saying we need to trade them for scrap, but it's time to consider that this core isn't the path to a championship, nor are they a fit to maximize each other's strengths. I'd hate to see Brown go.

But Tatum and Rob imo are the two most important pieces to building a championship team down the line.

He is having a decent floor game though. His offense will come around. Our issues is he's the best shooter on the team.

Our shot making is atrocious, luckily tatum is making other players better.

But that one pass that PP made to Grant, that got picked off, started a mini run for Toronto.

Celts had an 8-point lead at that time.

How is Rob doing out there? Oh wait, he's not playing.

How many combined minutes this year has Brown/Tatum/Rob played? I bet it's not much at all.

Again, just at least give this team until halfway through the season and see how they are going before going all nuclear.

The issue is the core of Tatum, Brown and Smart. They've been the constant through all the changes.

Personally, I think we should gut the entire team around Tatum and Rob. See what you can get for Smart and Brown.

Meh... two of the last three seasons, Tatum has been trash. His lack of willingness to attack the basket, or pass to Brown are also big problems. They are the worst set of teammates in the NBA in passing the ball to each other.
Tatum has been solid the last two years. I've questioned his mentality. There's also no denying he's bad this year.

But here's the deal. He's 24? I don't have FULL confidence in him being a #1 on a contender, I don't. But you don't give up on that talent. Before doing so, you need to maximize his young potential. The FO has not done a good job in constructing a team around him. So no, you don't move on from Tatum yet.

Brown, you think about it. Smart, well, he should have been traded years ago, and him being locked in here will be considered a blemish when we look back on his tenure here years from now. And if and when he's traded, people are going to see how much this team changes for the better without his massive presence. But that's not a conversation people are ready to have yet. So whatever.

Celtics aren't very good. Bucks were sucking cuz of injuries and now on a 7 game win streak. Atl got hot. Celtics show no evidence they can be consistent.

Smart has been routinely referred to as part of the core. And his treatment by coaching staff and FO clearly indicate that mistake.

Imo, the REAL core is Tatum Brown and Rob.

Considering that the core, those three constants, don't work after seeing this for years isn't going nuclear. We are 1/4 into the season now.

I don't have confidence that those 3 players are the seeds to a championship in 5 years. Neither should you.
