My friend saw Smart and Tatum partying hard last night at the hotel, hence the reason he's sucking tonight.

Personally, I think we should gut the entire team around Tatum and Rob. See what you can get for Smart and Brown.

Meh... two of the last three seasons, Tatum has been trash. His lack of willingness to attack the basket, or pass to Brown are also big problems. They are the worst set of teammates in the NBA in passing the ball to each other.
Tatum has been solid the last two years. I've questioned his mentality. There's also no denying he's bad this year.

But here's the deal. He's 24? I don't have FULL confidence in him being a #1 on a contender, I don't. But you don't give up on that talent. Before doing so, you need to maximize his young potential. The FO has not done a good job in constructing a team around him. So no, you don't move on from Tatum yet.

Brown, you think about it. Smart, well, he should have been traded years ago, and him being locked in here will be considered a blemish when we look back on his tenure here years from now. And if and when he's traded, people are going to see how much this team changes for the better without his massive presence. But that's not a conversation people are ready to have yet. So whatever.

I'll agree with most of this... but his bad habits are undeniable and seem to be cyclical. In his fifth year in the league and still afraid of attacking the basket? Then why market all the muscle gain? Seriously, what has he worked on in the offseason? Where is his passing? Even when Pierce was really upset at his team, he made a conscious effort to become more efficient under Doc. Tatum is going the other way. Iso brick after iso brick... yikes!

Pritchard is +10 though. He must be playing good!!!

But that one pass that PP made to Grant, that got picked off, started a mini run for Toronto.

Celts had an 8-point lead at that time.

Yeah that pass was really bad.

Pritchard has struggled all season - hope he turns it around.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I agree, I do. I just have hope for Tatum. He's still a kid. Who knows what his mentality will be when he's a grown man at 26, 27+. I'd prefer to find out here.

Enough with the excuses. Every team missing players.

2nd and 3rd best players?

Jaylen is our 2nd best, if you’re referring to Rob as our 3rd best, that’s highly in question. Plus we are not losing because of that. We lost big to the Raps at home minus their best player siakam, and we had a complete lineup. Same thing losing to the bulls, out scored by 28 in the 4th, with a complete roster. Enough with the excuses!

I wonder if the new allowed contact and the added muscle has screwed up Tatum's stroke.

Unless his feet are set, it seems like his misses are all front rim?

is it just me or are they calling this game EXTREMELY tight? seems like they're blowing the whistle on every possession, ruins the flow of the game.

That was great defense that possession, Al did a great job not biting on the 3.

Gotta give Toronto some credit they are defending well.

I'm just more patient to actually see the potential, this is BRAND NEW HC and a BRAND NEW SYSTEM.

That's all. I want to see half a season and evaluate from there, lucky Brad is the same and isn't a panic merchant like a lot of people.

Doing the same thing over and over again is madness when that is not working in the first place. That is what Tatum's game is at the moment . He has no moves whatsoever, no back to the basket game...nothing when his contested shots don't fall.

Bad basketball by tatum.

Lazy basketball actually.

Dribble up court, couple of lazy between the leg dribbles and a 20 foot jumper with 14 seconds on clock.

Terrible.

I am incredibly down on tatum this year and it actually started last season. Tatum an overly inflated semse of self/worth/abioity.

Most of these takes aren't rooted in panic, more like fatigue, lack of faith, and a desire for change. Stop gaslighting. YOU are better than that.

Given the schedule, this team will be 8-10 games below .500 then. Then will you sing a different tune?

Reading this game thread the Celtics must be down 20+ to the Raptors. Nope, tie game

Return to Boston Celtics
