Bucks To Sign DeMarcus Cousins

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Nov 28, 2021 9:45 pm

The Milwaukee Bucks are signing free agent center DeMarcus Cousins. Cousins has not played in the NBA this season. He was waived by the LA Clippers at the end of the 2021 preseason.

Cousins will be signing a non-guaranteed veteran minimum contract with the Bucks. Milwaukee was one of seven NBA teams with an open roster spot. The Bucks have been without center Brook Lopez for all but one game this season. Lopez has been sidelined due to back soreness.

Last season, Cousins played in 41 combined games with the Clippers and Houston Rockets. Cousins averaged 8.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in his 10th season in the NBA.

Cousins was never with the Clippers in preseason. That was Harry Giles. RealGM is so bad.

His teammates were winners imo. Demarcus has, or at least had the cry baby attitude of a sore loser. Maybe he's diff now who knows.

Clips choosing not to bring him back w/out an injury speaks volumes.

Yep, When I think "solid decision makers" I think "Clippers"! :noway:

Maybe, but I don't think LAC not bringing Boogie back was an indictment on him. By giving Kawhi a max contract while knowing he would be out for the season they were consciously looking ahead to the 22/23 season. Signing a player like DeMarcus to a "make good" contract would make no sense. If he doesn't make good they have wasted money and if he does make good he'd be signing somewhere else for more. Either way, they were better off not signing him and focusing on developing their core for Kawhi's return. So yeah, I would call it a good decision, but that has no negative reflection on DeMarcus. He averaged 18/13/4 Per36 last season. He's still got something in the tank.

PS: I grew up in LA and was a long time Clippers fan. I have witnessed some of the worst decisions in sports. I'll believe it when they have rings on their fingers.
