Suggs will naturally shoot less when players who take 10 shots a game come back like Fultz/Isaac. Who should be getting his shots? Harris? E'Twaun Moore? It's a strategy that isn't very popular. It's doable on teams that have established future starters or like a team like Indiana where Duarte can learn from Brogdon/LeVert/TJ etc. Rockets fans losing their mind while Sengun is behind Theis (who actually is a decent vet) and even Raps fans are annoyed Barnes isn't getting more shots despite being in starting lineup with 30+ mins a game. So even teams who are employing forms of accountability in different areas aren't exactly thinking it's entirely helpful.

It's just hard to balance. Too many young guys and you have a situation with too many cooks and nobody wanting to play a role. Too many vets that don't mean anything and you cause problems within the team and fanbase because it shows a lack of vision for the future.

In an ideal scenario, you have a team maybe like Memphis who had a solid but unspectacular team of a lot of younger vets that sprinkled in young guys like Morant and JJJ to add to it, or even Atlanta who had young guys but then traded for guys like Capela, Bogdan, Gallo to add to the core.

Suggs needs to learn when and where to pick his spots. The best way to learn that is from having someone better than him offensively show him the way. Cole is still a bit of a chucker but there are some things he can learn from him in terms of creating space and ball handling. Other than that, we don't really have anyone too amazing offensively. The closest person we have is Franz who is also a rookie.

It's like the NFL. Some teams can get away with not starting young guys (Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo) while other teams have backup QBs that never amounted to **** in the league and would cause coaches/GMs being fired if they were taught "accountability" by playing #1 or #2 picks behind career backups that get feasted on.

Nothing stopped Magic from using TPE to add actually somebody who isn't worthless , getting rid of Harris, or getting another solid PG. They just didn't want to.
There is zero logical reasons why Jalen Suggs in competitive league would be averaging 30 mpg and 10+ shots if there was possibillity of relagation to second tear division. Fact that teams still think sucking might be rewarding is main reason why nba has incredible amount of "stars" who don't move the needle because they aren't really all that good, they just have inflated stats on not so competitive teams.

Nowdays you draft somebody like Suggs and Jalen Green, you are fine with them sucking for whole lenght of rookie contract and hope they will figure things out in year 5...and not demand trade if they do so, by year 7. Now when i wrote that down...basically execlly what Gordon did to us. 6 years of "development" followed by trade demand.

I know Chuma has mostly struggled this season but I'm still a fan and believer in him. I think he'll find a rhythm. We know he's a better shooter than this.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

It’s like they were hoping to be a play in contender who wins the #1 pick if we miss the play offs or something.

I am more surprised by how well Cleveland has played compared to how bad the Magic has been.

I don’t know how anyone would expect anything different. We were going to be a bad team
