I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player expose a team like Jokic did this Heat team. One of their soldiers goes down and they do a lot of finger pointing and machismo trash but they afraid to lay a hand on Jokic because he’ll rough them up too. Talk about an identity assassination.

Honestly I get it.

Born in Miami, grew up and did all his schooling there. Goes to Florida for college and does all 4 years. And then joins the Heat in '03 and has been there ever since.

This guy kinda does live and breathe Miami.

I don't think Jokic is even going to play and half the Nuggets roster is hurt.

Sounds like a terroristic threat to me. Haslem better hope nothing does happen to the Jokic brothers because he’s painted himself as the #1 suspect.

Ya'll arent fighters, ya'll arent gangsters. You're basketball players. Haslem is 41 years old. Haslem has been living the high life since he was in his teens. He attended one of the best public highs school athletic programs in the state of Florida where he played high school ball with Steve Blake. He got caught later on having a booster paying stuff for him. He had a full ride to the University of Florida. And has made 70 million in his NBA career. 23+ years of his 41 years he's been living the privileged life all around him playing the game of basketball. Him trying to act like some mob boss is so weird and embarrassing.

Miami is really taking this Jokic situation to the "Hold Me Back!!!" extremes. Just let it die already, we dont need more staged pics of you guys in the hall "ready to throw down."

yeah, would expect more professionalism from a vet. You can still mock them if you really need to but deescalate the situation. "We don't worry about them. We worry about winning here and will beat them on the court. They can save those antics for Denver...." Or better yet, "We are all professionals who wanted to win and things got heated last game. We both lost players due to suspensions for letting emotions get out of hand. I don't care who is in the stands, we are just going out to focus on the game."

I think they had their card pulled. Even Anthony Edwards took the cue and didn't take any crap from Butler who was trying to bully him around.

Being in Miami, Haslem should be more worried about the Diaz Brothers

Yeah this is weak lol, especially after your team stormed the locker room acting like something was gonna happen. Although I really don't see the harm in Miami keeping him around. Rarely do teams ever fully utilize their full 15 man roster, so why not use one of those spots on a min contract guy that can basically be another assistant coach/hypeman/fall guy/tough guy?

That's pretty cringe.

He should've just kept his mouth shut. What does he think the Jokic brothers are actually going to do?

100%. This is what you should expect from a 41 year old veteran. Haslem is essentially a player coach at this stage of his career. You kind of expect him to have a more matured stance on all of this. Half of his statement was this, "no one is going to mess with your brother, we are here to play basketball." If that was his entire statement, would've been all good. He just had to throw in that little dumb "stay in line or else, because this is my city!" Haslem has watched 1 too many gangster/mob movies haha.

this caused me to watch the incident again.

morris laid a BIG ONE on jokic. jokic was in the middle of a jump pass and morris slammed into him and made jokic bounce. it was a hard hard slam.

jokic slammed him harder.

anyway,,,this is all bs posturing. haslem knows damn well nothing is going to happen. the brothers didn't buy a ticket to the game just to start a fight. more like they're there to protect jokic IN MIAMI.

haslem has this planned. he just wants to get miami into this game. "my city" my @**.

Haslem is all bark. I’ve never seen him in any real scuffle. He’s always mean-mugging and pretending to want to throw hands.
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

Heat reputation as phony tough guys is patently true.

Its not even charity by the Heat. Its another under the table bull Riley pulled off. Haslem took in 2010 a 5/20m deal while having multiple 5/33 full MLE offers from other teams. He "gave" up 13m at a time where he just had 30m career earnings (before taxes/agents), so the Heat could sign the Big 3.

And now he is in his 7th year collecting 2.5m vet min deals for absolutely nothing. Do the math. Assistent coaches just get 100k to 1m, thats why he is still on the roster and not in the staff.
