Guess we're going to have to wait until next year for his breakout.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

up to 15 BPM now, shooting 52%, 34% (on 3 attempts per), almost 80% from the line, almost 3 assists per game to only 2 TOs, 34 PER, 60 TS%, +37 Net Rating

He is a good offensive big and highly skilled, but I don't see how he gets on an NBA court with his rim protection. It has not improved enough imo.

that's fair - puts a hard cap on his ceiling and limits his paths to success for sure, but there is always room for a 7 footer that can efficiently score on multiple levels in the NBA and space the floor, especially off the bench.

Good news for him he actually is dunking much more this year. Perhaps he got in better shape.

With the 25th pick the Cleveland Cavaliers select ^^^
I don't follow college ball closely and just discovered him. He'll have his flaws sure, but i'm baffled many see him as likely undrafted.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

Vecenie says he got cooked defensively in space at the pre draft or G league or whatever camp last year.

Gleague combine, he got absolutely murdered, looked out of shape. I wouldn't be surprised if that was an eye-opener for him. Banton was the best player at that, Mac McClung, Aaron Wiggins, Jose Alveredo, and Duane Washington all got on NBA teams' radars from that, too. EJ Liddell was also fine, but not a standout. I think he improved a lot after it. Also thought JaVonte Smart and MJ Walker were very nice, but neither has gotten on an NBA team yet full-time. Most other players looked pretty terrible, or had really clear limitations (Mike Smith probably being the clearest example, just too small).

Older centers in the OAD era have a pretty low success rate in general. Most of the good ones tend to be identified very early. You can certainly find some exceptions but it is what it is.

He didn't get a roster spot did he? Looks like he's on a training camp contract like Bouyea. Does Miami already have their two-ways filled?
