Well, it's always a tough pill to swallow somewhere in Nets world. Get well soon Joey and we wish you the best and hope you come back. Nets will need shooting with Harden struggling and Harris now out for quiet some time. KD cannot get burned to the ground. The solution is sitting somewhere in NJ right now who can easily give us 27 PPG but refuses to do so.

Shooting is a non issue. we are #1 in 3-point makes and percentage. If anything, starting bembry has helped us defensively. If we lack something offensively its not shooting/spacing its a rim rolling big who is a threat in the pick and roll.

The majority of our offensive struggles are coaching related.

Obviously Kyrie helps and puts us in god mode offensively. but at the end of the day if Nash cant coach a Harden/Mills/KD/LMA led offense to a top 5 (if not top 1) finish then something is drastically wrong with him and his staff

Shamet trade looking dumber everyday. We basically have no good shooters off the bench now.

Carter + Sharpe looking like non-factors.

Harris was a solid floor spacer and helped immensely. When you are down Kyrie/Harris, that's a lot of offense, 42PPG worth. With the way Suns are playing, Warrors and now the Bucks climbing in the East, I cannot see us RIGHT NOW beating any one of these three teams in a seven game series. Harden has become a hybrid as opposed to an established faciltator and that's thanks to Ky.

Not with Nash as coach. with a real coach? hell yes we do.

Harris is a great floro spacer. Right now Mills is the #1 3point shooter in the league (ahead of harris) and on higher volume then harris. LMA has been automatic as a shooter. KD/Harden have elite spacing to work with. It is a coaching, preperation, and adjustment issue.

Again, Throw Kyrie in and it doesnt really matter cause you jsut become too good.

But wihtout kyrie and harris we are easily one of the 3 most talented offensive rosters in the league. and maybe #1.

Our bench has been good. and getting better. top 6 now in +/-, oRTG, and 3PT FG%.

We really struggle most offensively with our lineups with KD and Harden. Our failure to not just make that work but have it be deadly is flat out unacceptable. We really do nothing to maximize pressure we put on teams. for instance:

1) have you seen a single KD/Harden pick and roll/pick and pop? You can do it with Mills/LMA in the corners and brown in the dunkers spot.

2) Have you seen them run baseline screens to get KD a corner three with the screener presenting if the defense cheats on KD? thats like the staple for every team with a great three point shooter.

3) Harden initiating offense out of the post? KD initiating pick and rolls?

4) double high post screen action off harden at the top? doble drag screens?

We use KD like he is steve novak. he sits either behind the three point line waiting to catch and shoot or we give it to him mid post on the baseline, the easiest spot on thte court to double.

We ask durant to basically just never miss a mid range shot and to get it vs a smaller player. that should be the bailout of the offense, not the actual offense.

The suns had mismatches all game. worked booker off all kinds of actions. we do none of that.

This is exactly why we've been calling for Nash's head for weeks now. The offense is literally Harden dribble dribble for 16 seconds and then it's either a stepback three, a pass for a buzzer beater shot or a drive. You have literally two nuclear weapons and we don't run any two man game action with them. KD just sits on the arc watching Harden probe. It's horrible offense and an indictment on how Steve Nash is completely lost.

We can't win with this dude in charge. Either Kyrie comes back or we are f*cked :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Joe being out for 2 months is a devastating blow and it makes the Shamet trade look incredibly bad on Marks' part.

Our bench is still good. Still feels like a stupid trade.

Why waste an asset for a rookie who you won't even play? What use is Sharpe this season?

Carter sucks just as I thought he would. Shamet was an elite shooter. Looking great on the Suns too.

Sucks but at least we will be getting him back, doesn't hurt to run Cam more minutes either.

When Joe started hobbling right after the injury my initial thought was it was serious sprain. Then as per Nets usual we didn't hear much about it until now.

It would be nice to see Joe and He who shall not be named come back right after the all star break.

Hopefully Joe recovers soon and well. Take all the time he needs to be right. The Nets need him for the stretch run/playoffs.

If Marks didn't sign Mills to replace the loss of Shamet as a shooter, id agree with you (i actually said this at the time, and criticized marks until we did sign mills. then it all made sense).

And its not like we have a bunch of brick layers beyond that:

Carter was 38% for the suns
Milsap was 37% in Denver, 34% career

Not many teams go more then 3 deep on the bench with guys who shoot 37-38% plus from deep. Let alone one of those being the leagues leading 3 point shooter.

The pick was a throw in. the deal was for Carter. this team lacked defense and toughness on D, especially at the PG spot. As i mentioned in the other thread, this time last year people wanted to cut shamet cause his shooting was awful. Like shamet, and all shooters, Carter will come back towards who he is (and what we saw in preseason).

Mills > Shamet and not even close. Marks felt comfortable bringing in more D with Carter despite being a lesser shooter because he had a rich mans shamet with mills in his back pocket.
