Any expanded playoffs in any form is a good thing for the Jays. The longer the series, the better of course, but we've been screwed for far too long in the current format.

I'd just do away with the unbalanced schedule and seeding based on division. Baseball seems to be tying itself in knots trying to include all the good teams (by also including more garbage teams), instead of doing the obvious thing.

**** your asterisk.

dang Rangers just spent $500M on their middle infield.

When their best position player last year was a middle infielder, and their best major league ready prospect is a 3B. It's definitely a choice.

Re: 2021-22 Offseason Thread
Maybe it is just me, but Corey Seager is a bit overrated. He has not been healthy for parts of many seasons, especially the last 4, and it is ridiculous he got offered 10 years and 325 million. Not sure if the Rangers think he is the second coming of A Rod, when they signed him 20 years ago to a record breaking 10 year deal. Well done Seager's agent. The Rangers will regret this in the years to come, especially if Seager spends a lot of time on the DL.

Looks like Tigers are about to sign Javier Baez, wonder what the term is. Looks like record breaking day tomorrow in terms of players / agents wants the deals done before the CBA expires.
It was rumored we were looking Baez potentially as Seimens replacement at either 2B or maybe 3B?
I wonder if we are going to stay away from QQ guys now, and look to fill the gaps on non QQ guys.

I remember Jays drafting Kris Bryant in 2010 but couldn't sign him. Full circle? Also that year they drafted Aaron Sanchez AND Noah Syndergaard with compensatory picks , LOL.

Steve Phillips reporting that the Jays offered Ray the exact same deal they offered Gausman.
Feeling was that Ray was less likely to decide before December 1st.

Re: 2021-22 Offseason Thread
I'm really very unenthused about the idea of giving Kris Bryant anything in the 6 year, $160m range that MLBTR projected.

**** your asterisk.

Re: 2021-22 Offseason Thread
Of all the positions that we would need to think about upgrading, surely 1B is the last of them?
