Celtics lucky to get away with a W with Tatum shooting 2 out of 16 from the field.

Tatum is in a steep nosedive.

it does seem a little performative. even the stuff he was just doing with lebron and china. i mean, sure lebron is culpable in some sense. but so is everyone else who works with/buys/wears nike including the nba itself if we're going that route. the same nba that apologized to china when darly morey had the nerve to tweet free hong kong. why play for the nba then ? why not come out against them ? they're at blame too by this logic. at the end of the day, everyone is a hypocrite in some form or fashion. especially when money is involved.

Oh sure. Kanter is only playing like 11 MPG right now and this is went he decides to go after Lebron? I know they've never been friends but this is way more aggressive than the usual on court shenanigans. Seems like he's trying to to set up his post basketball life as some sort of activist, Fox News contributor, or maybe wrestling heel. It's certainly calculated move by Kanter.

Don't get me wrong either, most of Lebron's activism is really good. Him building that charter school was awesome. Which is why I found his blindspot when it comes to China very disappointing and worthy of being called out. He's not the only one either, Jamie Dimon had to apologize the other cuz he made some joke about China and he's the CEO of JP Morgan. Tim Cook basically quoted the CEO of IBM from the 1930's, talking about doing business in Nazi Germany, when asked about doing business in China. This stuff is way bigger then any of us. Like I do everything in my power to not buy goods made in china but when I cracked the screen on my old iPhone, you know I bought another iPhone. It's unfortunate that we don't really have any other options.

Dodged a bullet in 2018. Special kid, but when the red flags show up on your medicals about a fractured back, its going to be a short career. Larry Bird had issues with his back at the tail end of his career, but I would've bet he could've gone 3 more years if he tend to it earlier.

These are different scenarios - Didn't Bird f up his back building a driveway for his mom midway into his career?

Yeah, Bird's was kinda more stupid cause he should've just hired someone to do that for him and he wouldn't've broken his back

Porter's just got a bad back naturally.

Didn't know that. In that case, Bird was "trying to be a man" for his mom, while in hindsight, should've called a professional to do it.

As for MPJ, he's basically screwed, but he's getting paid.

Samsung :dontknow:

I catch you though. Global economy connects everything.

If you’re part of the growing “Avoid China manufacturing” movement or visit forums like r/avoidchineseproducts, which has 45K users, you should rest easy on Samsung products. Or as easy as it’s possible in this interconnected, capitalistic world!

Some Samsung handsets might be manufactured in China but it would be a very small percentage of the phones Samsung makes – almost negligible in fact.

There’s no telling however how many Chinese components Samsung sources for those handsets it assembles in other countries.

If you want to rely less on Chinese-made goods or simply want to know which countries have production capabilities to rival China, the list of names is pretty short.

If you’re concerned about human rights issues, like the treatment of the muslim Uyghur population in China, avoiding Samsung phones made in China is easy – but not necessarily the end of the problem.

The company has the same issues as most other companies when it comes to human rights and workers’ rights – and Samsung Vietnam is no different.

“According to local media reports, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam inspected working conditions at Samsung Electronics’ factories in Vietnam and found they work an average of 70 hours per week. On the other hand, Vietnamese Labor Law stipulates a maximum of 8 hours a day, 48 hours a week, and prohibits overtime work more than 30 hours per month and over 200 hours per year,” a report from 2018 stated.

Sometimes you have to look at yourself in the mirror and say, “When in Rome”. Passing on MPJ was the right thing to do in all fairness.

The dude was a working class kid from French Lick, Indiana. He was probably just used to/enjoyed doing that kind of work. Just a spot of bad luck.

Jokic is an unrestricted free agent at the end of next season, lets dream of the MVP.
