Watching the Orlando game rn, Franz and Scottie would of been the perfect pairing

i dont think siakam is a worse bball player than franz at the moment. realistically anything franz can do siakam can STILL do better. The problem is the expectations.

Their play style is very different. Franz’s feel for the game is elite for a rookie, he’s like Yuta on steroids. Knows how to cut, take players off the dribble and makes the right pass every time.


It’s not about which player is better lol, that’s a silly take. Of course the player in his prime is better than a rookie who hasn’t even played 30 games yet.

Siakam also knows how to cut, how to take players off the dribble and make the right pass. It's just that he's getting all-star attention /getting best coverage in the league. His scouting report is probably 2 pages long, everyone knows his tendency, whereas Franz is still an unknown which makes everything he does seems "smart".

Kinda getting annoyed with How injury prone any OG is - low key getting embiid/old AD vibes from him. These “minor” injury reports seem to constantly prolong
Not his fault of course but just frustrating how predictable it’s getting

Not sure how you pick up vibes across a screen but aside from last season where the team held out players for a stealth tank when has OG missed 20+ games?

Can't wait for that Flynn/Bane argument during the game.

There is not much of an argument to be made for Flynn at this juncture. I wanted the Raptors to select Bane. My guess would be that him being 6-foot-6 and having a 6-foot-4 wingspan turned the Raptors off of him as a prospect.

Flynn would be ok right now if his jump shot wasn't busted. Without that jump shot, a small guard like him is not going anywhere.

His lack of strength in getting to his spot has been a problem. Another problem with him being smaller and defenders are able to contest his shots, as evidence he got blocked, fade away, release quicker that contributed to miss shots.

I think he is more than jump shot away, and I am not seeing him being bigger or quicker, so I am not sure what would be next for him.

I think they play differently.
Sengun also sneaking up, and he should compare to Siakam or Achiuwa instead of Wagner comparing to our PF or C.

As for Siakam, I think he played well. He is carrying the offense, but OG should be carrying the defense instead of Siakam, and we are losing because of defense (Barnes makes a lot of rookie mistakes on defense). I think we will be better once OG comes back to play along with a C.
