I'm expecting this team to go into the tax starting next year with the paying to keep Oladipo and Tyler's future contract(which coincides with the last 1-2 years going for it with Butler), all the money has to be looked at putting Miami into the tax, you need to move the bad value contracts. Duncan is already 27, it's not like a young player, he's just a new player with a single NBA skill(Duncan's shot will come back at hom but he's still a single skilled player).
Looking at next year...
Starting Lowry, Oladipo(resigned)/Herro, Butler, Tucker, Bam with a bench of Herro/Oladipo, Strus, C.Martin(resigned), Vincent, Yurtseven, #1 draft pick and possibly M.Garrett, where is Robinson's spot or the need to throw 17+ million for just a shooter in that rotation? I don't see it and maybe Duncan doesn't see it either, more then likely Robinson was resigned as a contract Miami can move which is of course dependent on what Oladipo looks like after he comes back.
Miami I believe will hold Bird rights on Oladipo and C.Martin(2-way contract which will be converted to a league minimum this year) so it's pay them or lose them. The guy who seems out of place long term is D.Robinson who will be 30 after this 3 year window of trying to compete with Butler as the best player.
I don't think Miami is going to go all in unless they can package some of their talent for an all-star level player that is more near Bam's age. It's possible Robinson could be flipped for a specific vet of a position of need.
Quite frankly, you could do what I said this summer, move Robinson in a S&T and plug a guy like Strus in his spot and probably not miss a beat since Strus can do some things better then Robinson even if he's not as good of a 3pt shooter.
Yeah... the 2 bigs thing is out the window while Bam is in Miami, Miami's coaches/FO dream before picking Bam was to build a defense around him being a highly switchable center, they're very close to their vision other then Robinson being in the starting lineup but Spoelstra has an attachment with Robinson because he knows how hard he worked to put himself in his current position.
