Big game, everyone watching, and he folds like a lawn chair, just like the playoffs. Typical.

To be real, you arent wrong. Not showing up in big games consistently is probably the biggest knock on him as a player, and will continue to follow him as long as he continues to put up games like he just had vs the Suns.

Re: Stephen Curry has been totally exposed (Part II)
Curry outplaying both KD and Harden in the Warriors vs Nets game earlier significantly boosted his MVP case. Curry having probably his worst showing of the season in this big Warriors vs Suns game puts a bit of a damper on his standing again.
Even then I still think he is leading the MVP race at the moment. There is a clear top 4 but KD is "hurting" from Harden playing like his usual self again lately, while the Bucks and Nuggets are a bit too far down the standings for Giannis and Jokic to get the nod.

Fred VanVleet totally exposed Curry a couple weeks ago when he went 2-10 for 12 points but no one said anything because Wiggins and Poole went off. Just sayin.

i just dont like why curry is so conscious of these big games and choke. plenty do but curry is notorious for sub 40% shooting nights in clutch situations. great players they arent afraid to show off in big moments.
but somehow his average is always good bumslaying treadmill teams i cant win an argument although my eye test is right.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Re: Stephen Curry has been totally exposed (Part II)
I mean curry literally had an amazing game and outplayed my nets on the national stage recently. It's false he always shrinks.
However i did have a big problem with his play in this game. He seemed to have let his suck age bother him and was not aggressive in the crunch. That's a no no.

Well yes. Some of his 4th quarter stats in finals are just dreadful.

Just to puts some facts into the discussion.
Steph avg 26pts 5rb 6 assists in the finals.
Shooting pct from 3 below career avg but he is the #1 Target by opponents.

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
You can have bad games but he shrunk at the end by not being aggressive.

What Curry fans don't want you to know is his massive drop off in efficiency even though he has arguably played on the most stacked teams ever in the NBA finals. Which both they always leave out in their arguments.

To be honest, no one cares about the stats.
If the guy is unable to shake the narrative of being a choker, that is on him. These type of performances don't help and certainly give the haters something to grasp at, and you know what, they wouldn't be completely wrong.
You either change the narrative, or you let it sink you.

You can just see it in his body language. Curry is the most hot and cold player i've ever seen.
If he loses confidence, its basically over cause he can't get it back in that game and he starts playing faster and more and more timid. Hesitating on his shots, turning the ball over, not looking to do anything out there.
That was probably the most disappointed I've been with the guy. That was an embarrassing showing he put out there, and I hope he feels that way.
The funny part is, he will likely come out guns blazing the next game and bury the suns but no one will care because last nights game was the one that counted, and he failed, epically.
It is just a regular season game in November but he has these type of games too often, and as a fan it just freaking sucks.

This whole thread is weird. The idea that a guy that has made over 300 million dollars, is in the discussion of GOAT PG's, is unquestionably the greatest shotmaker of all time, and is in contention for his 4th NBA title is "letting anything sink him" is crazy.
I think we are all being prisoners of the moment.
Last nights showing was the worst I've ever seen him play. Its also not likely to be repeated again this season, as Phoenix was allowed to be unusually physical on the perimeter. Those turnovers were not an accident, and in Golden State on Friday, those will be called as fouls.
Watch and see....

Re: Stephen Curry has been totally exposed (Part II)
What's with all the "big game" and "stakes are high" talk?
This was a regular season game in November. How were the stakes high? Because some fans were looking forward to it?
Not really even defending Curry here but this game means nothing in terms of his legacy. Was just another regular season game.

Of course the dude shooting from 25-30ft will have more off nights than dudes shooting from 0-24ft, When you're that far away, you're talking about fractions in the release between makes and misses. His finals 4th qtr playoff points stacks against anyone, and it's laughable the same dudes calling him trash today, are the same dudes that smell out westbrook threads like the child snatcher from chitty chitty bang bang, to indulge in fantasy about his greatness.

He should go down greater in history, but he has these moments that are always held against him. There is only one reason anyone can think KD is better than Curry and it's because games like this stick in their heads for a long long time.
Times like this show what people mean by you can take curry completely out of a game, something you can't really say about any other all time great.
I'm a huge fan but i'd be lying If I said Curry doesn't often disappoint in big games, and this has been a theme for him in his career.
