what is your suggestion to resolve this?

For a start, shore up the roster imbalance by getting a center. Trade Dragic and Boucher for someone who can play. It's hard to say what else until and if we ever get everyone healthy together. If we do, play a center on court almost all the time, and go longer at the 2/3/4 with Pascal, OG, Barnes and Yuta more.

Do we go young, or FVV and Pascal's age? If you go young and talented, that might take a lot of picks. If we went older, what would Jakob Poeltl cost?

I'd say Pascal and Fred's age because they are under 30, still young. OG is a vet too, and Barnes and other young guys will follow along. A vet big like Jakob would be great.

To say he’s missing Leo. Wow. What an absolute burn on Alvin.

Does anybody like Alvin over Leo?

I'd imagine most people would rather listen to that screaming child on that broadcast then listen to Alvin talk

That child was much worse than Leo and Alvin lol.

I call you a lame arse blamer. Don't like losing then don't act like one. Team is young and injured. Go watch Lebron.

Even when healthy this team is flawed. If you can't see that then you're just a blind homer.

Right?
the defense seemed to focus on his when he was getting double teamed

If we can get Jakob for Dragic and Boucher I would be down. Pascal and him are close and had great chemistry when they played together. Jakobs freethrow shooting will kill us late in games. But we should be fine with that this year and can go small down the line. I would want to get a lottery pick this year and then focus on making the playoffs next year. With Barnes hopefully having taken a step on offense.

The Raps were expected to be in the play-in range competing with teams like CHA, IND, NY, WAS, CLE etc. I think they can be if they're reasonably healthy.

all 6 of the teams you listed have been better than the raptors. Cleveland missed Mobley for 2 weeks and now Sexton is out for the season. Pacers are missing TJ Warren. Knicks missed Mitchell Robinson for a while

Injuries are just a lazy excuse considering basically every team is missing players. No team is going to have 100% health all season.

I don't mind losing to the Nets or our recent road games or even the Celtics, that makes sense, those teams are significantly better than us. There's no excuse to lose to the Grizzlies without Morant at home.
No doubt that expecting to be 100% healthy all season is unrealistic, but do you expect this team to win regularly missing 2 starters consistently all season?

The team is too young and not deep enough to deal with it.

i would expect to be better than 2-8 at home

It's really hard to say what this team needs at this point. Health is a major factor but there also needs to be a roster upgrade. The easy answer as others have pointed out is size but I think the Raps are committed to figuring out their switching/gambling/change up defense that unless they get back a big that's pretty mobile I'm not sure if there's a move to be made there.

They also need to upgrade their playmaking. Fred is still a work in process in that area and there are a few players currently on the roster that will contribute with more seasoning (i.e. Barnes and Banton) but if they are looking to compete this year, a PG upgrade is a necessity. Lastly, they need a go to guy. I think the system creates a lot of pressure on the players to make their shots. We need a guy that'll take that pressure off. Someone that when you put the ball in their hands, they'll create points.

I don't think those guys are on the trade market right now and I don't think this team is ultimately competing for anything significant this year. Any upgrades with Dragic and Boucher as the bait would be along the fringes, nothing significant.

lol we arent getting Poeltl, who is arguably one of the best rim protectors and defensive C's in the league with elite vision for Dragic/Boucher. Poeltl is signed to a team friendly deal as well.

Agree. I'd be all for getting Theis from Houston, doesn't do the things Jakob does but a solid veteran center, especially with Birch missing so many games.

100% disagree. Alvin speaks his mind. He isn't afraid to criticize a ref or opposing player. And he doesn't talk down to viewers. Good riddance Leo.

The real reason why Leo is gone is because we no longer have a Big Man.. which means he loses half his talking points.

Agree that's way to little. potentially available centers - Poeltl, Christian Wood, Mitchell Robinson (UFA this summer), one of the Magic centers (unlikely but both are RFA), one of the pacers' centers (will require a lot more to get either), Dwight Powell, Marvin Bagley (maybe)

Whoever we target is going to take a lot more than 2 bad players on expiring contracts.

Can we talk about Barnes getting blown by on defense at the perimeter

His lateral quicks seems to be affected

Shooting is a real weakness of this team, and when you're missing two of your best shooters (Trent and OG), it's not surprising it got ugly. Still, FVV has to do a better job as lead point. And if he's incapable or unwilling, then we should give the ball to Scottie more - he generally makes something good happen.

I still want to see what a healthy roster can do over a stretch of 15-20 games. On paper this is still a playoff team IMO, but it sure looks ugly now.

In the meantime, Nurse needs to stop running guys into the ground. If you need to play guys 40 minutes a game to keep games competitive, then the team isn't very good to begin with. Let's get healthy and spread the load more. FVV has impressive stamina, but aside from him no one should be averaging more than 35 minutes a game.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."
