Josh Hart suffered the same injury last season. Ended up missing the final 6 weeks of the season. 6 weeks seems to be the hope though.

Incoming Herro averagine 28 shots a game

All jokes aside. IMO now you move Herro to the starting lineup and start Dedmon. Bring Duncan off the bench unless he gets his stroke back.

I would start Yurt at this point and hope for the best. Leave Dedmon in his role. Udonis might see more minutes. Going to get interesting. We'll drop in the standings for sure.

Injuries.....they really do derail a season. Thankfully it's still relatively early in the season.

Sucks that Cousins just signed a couple of days ago. Not many bigs out there right now. Maybe Harry Giles? Would take going into the tax. But at this point the Heat might have to bite the bullet.

the very minor bright spot is that he gets a few weeks off to also heel that knee that has clearly been an issue.

Why would you wreck the starting lineup like that, I get a spot start for an injury but this is about 2 months without Bam.

What I'd expect, move Dedmon to starting center, Morris/Haslem/Yurtseven as the backup centers and we get to see KZ get minutes at PF again which may be a make or break time for his career past this year.

I was fully expecting Tucker/Lowry to have injuries but Bam?

Ugh.

At least this may explain his soft play as of late. Maybe it doesn't. I don't know.

Are there any serviceable bigs out on the market right now? I’ve thrown all hopes of a top seed out the window unless butler just goes nuts.

I bet Zo in a suit is better than what’s out there right now.

If Morris plays well again when he returns and Yurts or Okpala are serviceable Miami should be fine. If Deadman can stay out of foul trouble he brings you similar production to Bam.

Kemba Walker is out of the rotation in New York... perhaps we can trade for him and start him at center

I had a similar injury and it take several weeks to heal. I did not need surgery, but I had a cast on for several weeks and then had to do rehab because essentially you can't grip anything. The problem for Bam is that this is on his shooting hand.

My guess is he'll be out about 8 weeks.

Honestly the Bam injury stings extra because he and Duncan (unfortunately) were like the only guys I expected to stay relatively healthy all season. But if I had to choose between going without Bam or Butler or Lowry, I'd probably pick Bam

That said I fully expect both Butler and Lowry to miss games as well during Bam's absence fml

I'd actually expect Butler to play more to try to carry the load until Bam or Oladipo is back, then I could see him take some time here and there to try to keep him somewhat fresh for the playoffs. Although Oladipo is a wing, he allows Butler to take a night off and possibly not have that big of a dropoff(like before Oladipo is back) where it makes strategic sense to give him a night off.

Dedmond will become less effective the more minutes he plays. You put Yurt into the starting lineup, you are only effecting 1 position. Everybody else can stay in the role with just more minutes. Yurt to start the game might be able to stretch the floor to start games. Its the only way to really protect the weak bench and effect as little people as possible. We have a glaring size problem even with Bam.
