Go to the financial district of any city in the world to see suits.

Mostly old people and occasionally douchey entry level kids. At least that’s how it is on Wall Street.

Wearing a suit now does not signify what it used to. Of course when you suit up, it has to look good. But things have drastically changed

Just another example of the downfall of our society. A suit used to mean something. People used to take pride in how they dressed. Now coaches where jogging sweatpants on the sideline.

That's true.... but what Boats is saying has some truth to it. Generally company owners, big guys don't wear suits anywhere near as much as they used to. It's something I see middle management type guys do, performative stuff to seem professional. None of the guys I meet with that run companies run a suit.

It's a regional thing though, I notice some more conservative states the suit is still part of the "professional requirement" where in California nobody cares.

As for the thread, I'm fine if nobody wants to wear a suit anymore. Suits have always been part of a performative "professionalism" that I abhor. I've never owned one and never will.

Agreed… also, you can absolutely still dress proper and “professional” without it being a suit. The idea that a suit is the only way to seem 100% professional is one that is finally going away and that’s great. I do have nice suits and love to rock them for special occasions but I would never want to have to wear one everyday, ewww.

Unless you do manual labor, dressing up like an adult should be mandatory.

I’m pretty old school when it comes to tht NBA, but I actually don’t mind the current attire for the coaches.

They still look presentable, you can tell they are much more comfortable, and I think the looks fits better on the court vs suits.

The nice thing about the suits was that some coaches would wear some awful cuts which was always lulzy.

I really wish they would go back to home white uniforms, and a rule that the players shoes match their colors.

The mismatched shoes bothers me more than anything

Go to any clothing store, there's a lot of different types of clothes in the "adult" section. Pretty sure it's mandatory to wear something like that anywhere, you don't see many people wearing clothes that you can buy in the childrens section

i'm in favor of casual dressing in team "uniform". some coaches can't dress anyways. i don't think it adds to the game experience. plenty of other places to look at people in suits.

And a well fitting suit is way more comfortable than any other type of clothing. Nothing better than putting on a nice wrinkle free shirt right from the dry cleaner

I mean, I want to see a hot girl in basketball shorts, but that doesn't mean I believe in requiring coaches to be women only

Lol this thread made me think back to the Derrick Rose playoff jersey meme and then it hit me that even players used to wear suits on the sidelines. A lot has changed in a relatively short period of time
