Even the sisters.

Jontay Porter we thought was going to be a great player but I don't think he's ever going to get over his injuries to play NBA ball.

If I were the Wizards I would be trying to maybe include Bradley 2 Denver right now for Michael Porter it is a risk reward thing

Whenever I hear a serious nerve injury like MPJ's, I think Robert Pack. Initially, his injury wasn't expected to be very serious, but he never really recovered from it. Maybe medical science has improved since then, but I'd be too scared to trade for MPJ - especially with the family situation, and he's already had a major injury himself.

Yup. I'm not trading for MPJ. There's a real chance he is damaged goods. And he just signed a 5-year, $150M deal.

Good to see Mathews finding a home.

I don't have a big problem with the organization letting him go though. After trading for KCP and drafting Kispert, there really wasn't any room left for him on the roster. A team can only use so many 6-5 guys who can't dribble.

Perhaps one can reconsider the wisdom of drafting Kispert in the first place. But once he was drafted, Mathews really didn't have a spot here.

I think the Warriors will end up crushing them - despite the Suns playing tremendously so far.

Lakers get great shooting games from Lebron, AD, and Westbrook, but barely beat 4-16 Detroit by 4 to reach .500. The Lakers should be better than they've played, but you are what your record is. I don't think they realized how important Caruso was to winning games. They should have paid him instead of trading for Westbrook.

Yup. Caruso, KCP, Kuzma and Harrell combined make about $4M less than Westbrook plus 3 end-of-bench vet minimum guys.

They probably could have shopped Harrell for a guard with a little juice to bend a defense.

Javale McGee is the lucky piece for the Suns and they're going to win it all

I'm watching the Warriors play the Suns right now.

Both of these teams are so much better than the Wizards, it's not even funny.

The Suns are going to the NBA Finals if they stay healthy. They play patiently offensively, exploit matchups, and they fly around defensively. Just elite.

nate33 wrote:I just glanced at Jokic's stats so far this season. Here are his per game averages (in just 29.5 minutes per game):

26.8 points
13.5 rebounds
4.5 assists
2.0 steals
0.3 blocks
.743 TS% :o
.467 3P%
+40.3 on/off

Utterly preposterous!

Jokic is keeping up. So far on a per 36 basis* the man is averaging:

29.1 points
15.2 rebounds
7.1 assists
1.3 steals
1.0 blocks
.671 TS%
+28.3 on/off
35.5 PER (best of all time by a mile)
.336 WS/48 (2nd best of all time behind KAJ in 1972 in fast pace era)

He is truly on pace to play the greatest single season of basketball by anyone, ever. This is not hyperbole.

The Nuggets are 10-10, but 9-6 in games Jokic has played. That's a 49-win pace, good enough for 4th place in the Western Conference.

When Jokic is physically on the floor, Denver has a +13.7 Net Rating. That would lead the league. When Jokic is not on the floor, Denver has a -14.6 Net Rating. That would be last in the league. They are literally the best team in the league with him on the floor, and the worst team in the league (by a lot) with him off the floor.

Spoiler:
* Per 36 is appropriate. He is technically averaging only 32.4 minutes, but that's because he got hurt and missed an entire half of one game, and he played low minutes in two blowout wins. Ignore those 3 games, and he is averaging 34.8 minutes a game.

Bridges did a great job. Looks like the best NBA player to come out of Villanova since Kyle Lowry.

Sensible on its own terms, nate -- but it's too limited a POV, IMO.

Just think of it in terms of an asset & its value. Not to mention that we're paying Gill, for example, when we have a ton of 4s on the roster -- even with Rui not having logged a single minute, Gill doesn't play. & we drafted yet another 4 in Todd!

Not a big mistake letting him go -- but a mistake all the same.
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

This is going to seriously hurt Miami. Is it fair to say that Miami is now a rival of the Wizards?

Ouch!

Bam is absolutely critical to everything they do. His ability to switch is why they're an elite defensive team, not an ordinary defensive team. This is going to cost Miami a lot of wins.

Yeah, I forgot they traded Precious in the Lowry trade. Maybe Kieff is the next man up?
