heh, I thought the game was tonight. I had gotten so used to the Bulls having at most only 1 day of rest between games this past month.

Got a good buddy going to the game tomorrow, his first Knicks game since Covid. If we could smash them to pieces so I can heckle him through FB, I'd be really happy. He's taking his kids, and the oldest is big enough now to start to learn the Knicks' natural inferiority to the Bulls. It's the circle of life, kid.

The way to beat the Knicks is making your open 3s. They will blitz on Zach and Demar so we will need to run the pick and roll with Vuc and Vuc should be open at the top of the 3pt line. If he knocks down a few, that will require a chain reaction. That means guys like Green/DJJ need to cut to the hoop and Ayo, Lonzo and Caruso need to spot up and without hesitant take and make their open 3s.

Simple game. But if we miss our open 3s, Knicks defense will go bezerk and we will have hard time scoring with them taking charges, shot blockers etc.

Since we will be rested, I expect us to be great at both ends of the floor and knock down the 3s and win this by 8 points.

Our bench will be better defensively

We need more scoring otherwise lavine and derozan and vucevic will have dead legs by the 4th

Need carsuo ayo and maybe Troy Brown Jr to put some points on the board and not just watch derozan go iso

Was just thinking about Trae Young doing his villain thing in MSG. Ayo is a totally different dude, but they both have some young-blood swagger about them.

I'm now big-time hoping that without Coby, Donovan leans on Ayo's grit and confidence tomorrow. And the kid shines under the MSG lights and puts up some big-time shots.

Bulls are gonna have to dig deep to lose this game .
About to watch the last meeting and before tip off I notice the bulls are coming with a better version ( have vuc) and the Knicks are coming in at worser version ( starting Mitch ).

We just had two days off for the first time in what seems like all season. They should not be tired tomorrow with normal minutes.

This is the first time in a while the Bulls are back and can make a statement so of course let’s honor the classic I’m Back! There is not the same drama but still, there is that similar feel to an extent. Always gotta love playing in MSG

speaking of jordan,
in total points , demar is 1 point away from 1st in the league. Zach is 3rd.
it look like :
1. Durant 571
2. Derozan 570
3. Lavine 557

That is pretty spectacular. Thats all nba level for both these guys considering team record.
Last year the jazz had 3 all stars and so did brooklyn.
Each of those big 3 include their point guard.
The Bulls can boast a big 3 , and still have the luxury of elite point guard play.

If you dont believe in Vuc, when he was traded, he averaged 25ppg and 10+ rebounds and both numbers were higher than AD at the time .

This is elite roster construction, and lowkey one of the best rosters in the entire conference and league. At least from the top but generally that is the goal.

A question , this to me is another look offensively,
what if javonte became more of a ballhandler ?
And he is he were like draymond point forward to a pretty lethal 4 man group.

We can get javonte involved in the offense and have 4 guys out which would stretch out a zone.

Even under Boylen , it felt like we had multiple offenses. In my opinion this could be a good look. With an elite point guard like lonzo, its not like the bread and butter but maybe an option when the bulls offense gets stuck in the halfcourt.

Points of interest / concern in my opinion:
1. RJB rounding into his Harden archetype at the wrong time right on our heads.

2. Quickley low key being the knicks best point guard, yes better than rose so dont let him get all tyrese maxey or SGA on us. (all kentucky guards)

3. Burks - the new pointguard but i feel he is stretched thin, he is ball handling , running offense when his offense and defense is needed on the wing. In all honesty also gives me a little bit of a harden vibes. We dont want that.

4. While the knicks may have a lot of positives, Mitch seems to be a pretty major handicap.
This is a guy who could possibly challenge for 6moy. As a starter, some people say he doesnt rotate on shooters, but his skill is limited and basically anchored a historically bad knicks lineup. As many positives as the knicks can have, in my opinion his is the number #1 flaw on the team and the primary reason the knicks are just .500. Basically DAJ part 2 and we are talking about present day.

5. Wanted to say Thibs is coaching from another planet but there are so many positives other than the Mitch stuff that it might not be fair. For example Donovan, ive disagreed a ton but recently we seem to agree on at least a starting lineup. While there are bumps in the road following donovan, theres a lot of common ground and it makes it much easier to understand. Its like thibs is speaking a different language than everybody, with donovan its looking like only a few phrases that im not getting /following.

6. Just between us, we know julius has not been always playing at his all nba level. If he does not, do we wanna get beat by a bunch of middle men? Here i say dont let Thibs off the hook.
