Re: Official Spec Thread: Heart and Hustle Magic 2.0
I know I'm in the minority on this board, but holding out healthy players to increase your chances of losing is just a really bad look and a worst-case scenario for the team you root for. It goes against everything sports is about. It is the opposite of competition.
In addition to all the bone bruises and tweaked ankles that linger for months, I noticed Mo Wagner got a DNP-CD in Philly. No doubt because he's been playing much better lately and hitting his threes.

Re: Official Spec Thread: Heart and Hustle Magic 2.0
I thought last season was disaster but this is most boring season since 2013.
Franz in role of Harris, Wendell in role of Vuc, Mo Wagner in role of Nicholson, we just need somebody to mimic Hedo and take steroids.
Forum is empty 25 games into a season, in past at least people were at least arguing about some dumb stuff, nowdays not even that. Just nothing.

Its the Devos fault. The people who run a pyramid scheme cant seem to run an NBA team....

Getting top 5 picks year after year due to injuries? Genius. Only a matter of time before we have a David Robinson/Tim Duncun situation ...right???

That isn't happening though? It happened at the end of last year because we were actually tanking.
But then people got mad when we "rushed" Isaac back. Always a lose-lose when it comes to that stuff.
Cole had a sprained ankle. No reason to rush him back if he's not 100%. Most times you can "play" on a sprained ankle if it's not a super severe high sprain or something, but the fact that Suggs got injured probably means Cole has to toughen it out a bit.
I'd say he was close to returning anyway. He missed what, 4-5 games? If it was a decently sprained ankle that seems like a good amount of time to miss.

Re: Official Spec Thread: Heart and Hustle Magic 2.0
We could buy off Kemba and Knox for Ross from Knicks...
There is nice value of having former allstar in lockerroom. He, as player is on huge decline, but he is good lockerroom guy who isn't cancer to be around. There is lot of things he could teach guys like Cole, Suggs and Fultz.
And he is actually cheap ( $9M a year for this and next year).

Is anyone excited about the top of this draft class if we get a top-4 pick? WIth the exception of maybe Jabari Smith from Auburn, I'm not impressed.

I don't like Kemba's game right now. He hasn't got it in his head yet that he's a marginal role player.pepe1991 wrote:We could buy off Kemba and Knox for Ross from Knicks...

Saw him play against ucf last night and that kid is pretty good. Kinda reminds me of Jaren Jackson Jr a bit.

Nobody will give you anything for Ross. He has been below average backup for 3 years, this year he is borderline unplayable.

I don't totally agree with this. Ross has been really bad for the Magic this year, but I suspect most contending teams would assume it's a motivation/effort issue and not a skill declining issue.
Ross played 4000 minutes as a bench shooter/scorer over two years for a bottom half playoff team. That wasn't that long ago and there's no reason he shouldn't be able go back to that type of very defined role with a contender.
Now that said, I don't think the return for the Magic would be much at all. Maybe an expiring contract and a 2nd rounder or an expiring contract and a young players signed for very little.

Re: Official Spec Thread: Heart and Hustle Magic 2.0
I'm okay with having one of Harris or Ross on the team but not both. When they both play 25+ minutes and give us (worse than) nothing, that's the most annoying part of this season. I'm not super high on Hampton, but his minutes shouldn't be down this year at the expense of two veterans that have been consistently bad.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.
- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

I dont think teams will give up alot for him, but you can absolutely find a trade for him
Playoff teams are always looks for good bench scoring, and when hes on, hes one of the best bench scorers in the league.
Teams like the 76ers, Celtics, Raptors and maybe even the wizards could all use a guy like Ross for the playoff push
Probably wont get much, and would likely get something in the range of what we got in the Evan Fournier trade (2 future 2nd rounders), but you can find a taker

With the offensive woes especially in the perimeter ( what can you expect having Evan and Kemba ) plus RJ not really blowing up as expected, I think the Knicks would really go for TRoss.

I love Mr. Trade-down as much as I like trading out of the draft all together.
Is there really a difference between Jaden Ivey/Duren and Ochai Agbaji, for example.

Don't forget the common denominator - Alex "Greesy-as-Hell" Martins is still here as well.
I don't care what his facade is or what his official office or title is, I bet you he still has the final word (if he wants to intervene) in any major decision this FO is taking.
