Unfortunately, I fear negotiations for the next CBA is trending towards a lockout as well. This matter boils down to Kyrie’s personal choice; well, just how far does that choice stretch? Can players refuse to play, as a matter of personal preference in protest of other laws, social matters, or league-related practices (e.g., the NBA’s dealings with China) by sitting out games? How do franchises and the league remedy such matters without nullifying player protections, such as guaranteed contracts?
Have it be treated like every other freaking job and simply not pay people that are not fulfilling their job obligations?
