This why they need to play wall. He doesnt know how to play, and having a veteran former star on the floor teaching by example is extremely helpful, even more than coaching a lot of times.

Haven't seen them play since he got hurt, but every time I watched when he was in, he was a disaster. Horrific defense, mindless chucking on offense.

They started their streak right after Silas' job was reportedly on the line. He strikes me as a players' coach so it wouldn't surprise me if that played into their newfound intensity. Playing 3/4 home games and twice against OKC also helps.

That said, yes they are better without Jalen on the court right now. Of course, it would be very short sighted to prioritize winning over the development of their most important building block. Rookies almost never provide positive impact so I wouldn't put too much emphasis on his shaky start.

I think most people understood that it’s gonna be a long road for Green. The raw talent is there in spades. Raw being the operative word.

Is the game gonna slow down for him? Is he gonna become more efficient? Will he always be super selfish, a taller hyper athletic Collin Sexton?

Time will tell.

He's an elite athlete.... Might be top 5 or 6 in the entire league... but his offense has a long ways to go and he also is making lots of rookie mistakes... perhaps too early to label him a low IQ player because he is so young but he takes bad shots and for being such an elite athlete isn't a good defender yet.

The biggest reason we've done a 180 is that we're not playing two centers together. That's not to say Jalen Green's absence hasn't helped as well but the jury is out. The game we went with a lone center is coincidentally the game he got injured and his play was also improved before he went out. Small sample size but it was promising so I'm wondering what he's going to look like when he's reintegrated.

Looking at the game logs there's actually an incredible streak of games where his plus minus was greater than the final deficit...ie. he'd be a minus 32 and the rockets would lose by only 28.

Jalen unquestionably has negative impact right now. Its not even arguable. What does he even do positively? Most rookies have a negative impact tho not everyone is Mobley
