1. With Brook Lopez out with back surgery, and Kyrie not playing - there's no real unbeatable teams in the East.
There's a lot of good teams, but no one we can't beat if we're at our best.
2. We're far from our best. With Bam out this long, Dipo still isn't ready, and Duncan and Lowry struggling to start the season - we just have to find a way to survive the next month or two.
If we can win half of these games, we'll be at a good enough spot to finish the season strong when everybody's healthy. We won't finish as the top 3 seed, but if we'll be at our best - we can beat any Eastern team without home court advantage IMO.
We need Dipo back as soon as possible, we need Morris to get over the neck thing, we need our shooters to get out of their slumps, we need Gabe and Strus to keep playing well, and maybe Omer/KZ can take advantage of the opportunity with Bam out.
Just keep our heads above water for the next 2 months, don't panic and collapse. We'll have a shot once we're at full strength to end the year.
Agreed. The east is open...the NBA really...but specifically the East. Dipo is going to make a huge difference if he is even 70% of what he was. Duncan and Kyle get their stuff together and we get healthy. If all of that happens and we manage to survive the next few months going at least 500 on those games, we will be in good shape to make a push. We get in the playoffs without the play-in, we can beat anybody in a series.
