Jaden Ivey

Post#1 » by jman3134 » Sat Mar 20, 2021 12:58 am

I just published something about Ivey breaking out this morning. He is an elite, elite athlete and I believe his game is best suited to develop in the G League, given the benefits of spacing. His three point shooting needs to improve, but his shot has been better lately. Love this kid's game.

His stock has been steadily rising. If Jaden Ivey stays on track with his progress, he’ll be competing with Jaden Hardy as the top SG in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Yeah.

I've seen mocks who have him in the top 10 for 2022 after the U19 World Cup.
Finished his college year with a 26 point game in the NCAA tourney and had some solid games for team USA.
His outside shot is still hit or miss, terribly inconsistent from there but he's an absolute pest defensively, disrupting everything.

If his shooting comes along watch out.

He's the next Latrell Sprewell, not Keon Johnson

Jaden Ivey

Haven't seen a thread for him in the thread list but he is deserving of one. He has tremendous upside. Incredible speed, loves to attack and plays with energy on both ends (even has some nice off-ball activity). He also seems to have huge hands as he can easily palm the basketball. If the shot creation for others he has shown versus UNC is for real – and that is all about his mindset, the ability is there – and he can shoot well enough from deep to keep defenses honest, he has a chance to be special.

I really hope he can develop his jumper and a pull up game.

I'm not familiar enough with all the prospects yet to say top 5 but certainly lottery.

Super efficient game tonight, 4/6 from three.

His game reminds me of Ja and Oladipo

Gonna need to continue working on his shot but he looks awesome

We were talking about him in the summer at the Juniors World Cup.

Stood out like crazy, was expecting this kind of jump in his sophomore year based on his team USA play.

This guy looks amazing. Great handle, creative, very decisive in his movements.

He looks taller than 6'4'' too.

Top 5 in this draft for me, taking into account I just started following this year's prospects and there's much to be seen.

superstar. Like Fox and Mitchell. It's laughable that people are calling this a bad draft class

It’s hard to make an argument for anyone other than the top 3 bigs to be ahead of Ivey at this point. He’s looking like a solid top 4 prospect now. He keeps rising whilst other guys who were considered on his level at the start of the season (Hardy, Baldwin, Duren) remain stagnant or drop.

I don't understand why he's not getting more attention. His ability to get to the rim at will is absolutely special and he's explosive once he gets there. While he's not a great shooter, he's far from bad. He defends both on the ball and off in the passing lanes. He's got good passing ability and vision, especially if you consider him a SG. And he's leading the number one school in the nation right now while still being just 19 years old. He's clearly my number one pick at this point. Tier above the rest.

I love Ivey more than most (top 4 for me). But Fox ain't no superstar, not even an all star. Now that's laughable.

He's giving me a lot of Oladipo vibes and I would say he's one of my favorite prospects to watch in the past few years. He seems like he genuinely works hard on his craft and looks to be very coachable.

Those are both point guards, though. Ivey projects better at the next level as a 2, IMO.
