He's already been here, and he wasn't good then.

He was a plus defender while here.

Only in certain match ups. He struggles with quickness.

BS. Hill was really really good for OKC, then broke his hand.

If all he does is defend Jimmy Butler, he's worth his salary and spot at the end of the bench.

Steer Jimmy left and he's an easy match up. Why the Bucks couldn't figure that out 2 years ago is beyond me. They did last year, and Jimmy was junk.

Plus, Miami won't be around in the playoffs long enough to worry about. We need our focus on how, and who, to guard KD. That isn't Wes.

Exactly. Wes brings a solid defensive effort and 6 fouls to the table, in place of a guy who wouldn't have seen a single solitary second of meaningful action. Plus Wes can knock down an open 3.

I agree GK was junk, I would just rather find better use of the roster spot.

And I'm sure the Bucks will eventually bring that guy (the KD "defender") in at the deadline/buyout market. For now, people have been complaining about our deep bench. Matthews is absolutely fine as a deep bench player and minute filler during the regular season.

When your championship window is the present, I'm 100% for bringing in any veterans that know the system rather than wasting time "developing" untalented end-of-bench guys. But again, we probably avoid all this if we simply fork over the $7-8 mil to re-sign PJ. Because bringing in guys like Boogie and Wes is just adding to your luxury tax bill anyways.

Hill looked cooked for us after the all star break in 2020 and then in the bubble. I guess he played well in OKC, I wasn't paying close attention to OKC to be honest. I did however see him play a quite a bit down in the stretch and in the playoffs for Philly and he looked done.

That said, he's looked really solid for us so far this season. I was wrong, he's not cooked. Maybe he just never fit in with Philly, they don't have a winning culture like we have here in Milwaukee. We're the new Spurs. We'll probably make half the teams in the league kick themselves by midseason for not signing Cousins or Wes.

I figured Paul Georgios wasn't long for the NBA world. I actually thought Semi would be the first of the new dudes gone, though. Now it's a race between Semi and Hood.

Also, eff it, bring back Greg Monroe.

Wouldn't be surprised if we find out Hood is injured. IIRC, he didn't play in the 2nd half versus Toronto, after getting run in the half.

So we'll have paid Semi, Hood, Wes and the Euro I didn't even bother learning his name probably around $5+ million this season?

Glad we didn't bring back PJ!

Sad part is, Wes is easily the best out of that bunch still.

Here's your crib notes on this move:

1. DDV likely ain't coming back anytime soon

2. They realized Georgio's can't shoot, it was just a question of when they admitted it.

3. Bud wants someone he can "trust" in his rotation with schemes, and he can't trust Nwora.

Hopefully he can still defend a little and hit an occasional three. It's worth a shot imo. Giannis makes so many average players succeed.

They're pretty thin in the back court, so I get it.

My concern is that this means DDV won't be back this year. Wes was a marginal player when he was here, and he's gotten older and worse.
Allen, Holiday, Hill and Connaughton is fine depth in the backcourt.

It's odd. They started the offseason like they wanted to save money but when all is said and done are going to just be paying more to fix their errors.
