Guys like Bolmaro, Nowell, and Knight look perfectly capable of taking over rotation spots, so trading some combination of Beasley, Prince, Okogie, Layman, and McLaughlin (and a pick or two) for an upgrade makes a lot of sense. The swing for the fence options include Simmons, Turner, and Siakam. Guys who would provide a moderate upgrade would be PJ Washington, Barnes, Kuzma, Nance, and Theis. I'd even be looking at a reclamation project like Bagley.

I really hope we can free some cap space, and convert Knight contract in Hinkie deal (6-8mil/4yrs with multiple team options)

Why? What about his performance last night or this season made you want this?

If it's at all on the table I think we should seriously consider a framework around DLo+McDaniels and a pick or so for SGA+Favors+Dort

Putting aside the issue of whether moving Dlo loses KAT, OKC never makes this trade. Dort is better than MCD right now, OKC is swimming in picks, and SGA is the player they want to build around. They could get far better offers than this (and probably have,) and have made it clear SGA is untouchable.

In the most likely to be traded category right now have to be Beasley and Prince.

Also JMAC and Layman are useless filler at this point. Leo completely moots any value JMAC offers (not even mentioning Nowell can also fill this roll,) and Layman is only ever going to play non garbage minutes if he is the last body standing.

Beasley, Prince and maybe Reid, his stock might be at all time highest?

Sga has taken a step back, his stats are down across the board.

I would probably put Reid third as well. Stock is up, contract situation, and just someone who should have value.

I'll say the deadline move will be Reid and one of those two wings for a PF/C upgrade.

Reid is such a mixed bag for me. On the one hand he has proven he is probably starter level PF or C somewhere in the NBA (or at least first man up,) he is also our only C depth and a possible PF when we need to go big. The only way we trade Naz if we get two bigs back and even then one of those bigs would need to be at least equal or better in overall performance. I just don’t see us doing it anytime soon.

So left field thought. I am not sure either team would do this, but since the topic of the day has been trading Dlo and I don’t think we can do so without also moving KAT, I spent some time thinking about teams that might want both. The best idea I had in this situation is KAT and Dlo to the Pacers for Turner, Sabonis, and LeVert. Again, I am not sure either team would do this, this is just a very rough idea I though I would share for opinions and feedback.

If we're gonna do that I want Duarte or Brogdon instead.

Brogdon is unavailable this year (according to Fanspo trade machine,) and I am honestly not sure if I would prefer Duarte over LeVert. I see why you would, but I think going a little older might be better.

Levert sucks (inconsistency issues) and is made of glass.

Assume this correct and the math works (or through in players make the math work,) do you make this deal if Duarte replaces LeVert?

Hinkie's contract is about potential, not current production. I love Knight's potential, he seems to me even more talented than guys like Harry Giles, Marquese Chriss who might be available for minimum deal. Knight has physicality, good hands, aggressiveness, decent jump shot for a big, PnR etc. Also Hinkie's deal has zero risks, because of team options.

Nothing would make me happier than to find a another Naz in the G as it were. But I watched knight in summer league and he didn’t so much crap the bed as he got forced onto the bed and had bad stuff done to him. Paul Reed absolutely owned him, and the next game wasn’t much better. One good G league game and some very average backup play in 1 game doesn’t quite swing the needle for me.

Worse still we have 2 roster spots tied up with players I am not convinced have any value at all. JMAC and Layman are just in the way bodies. Until we move them filling our last roster spot and moving into the tax isn’t likely to happen much less on the type of deal you’re describing. Granted I get your comment is about when we have space and cap room, and I hope by then we see something more substantial from Knight to justify it.

The Rockets and Pacers seemed to be pretty discussed trade partners.

If we could get Turner, Tate, Gordon while only giving up Beasley, Prince, Okogie I'd be happy to send over a FRP to both teams.

DLo/Bev/Bolmaro
Edwards/Gordon
Tate/McDaniels
KAT/Vando
Turner/Reid

We'd be tough to beat. Our defense is already decent we add those guys in Tate Turner and we might be the best defense in the league.

Starting to wonder about our guards … extremely unreliable. Unless something changes .500 is prolly about our potential if we stay healthy. As is, a roller-coaster is something we need to accept.

Did we do this here?

Rank the order that you think Gupta would trade our players, as we continue to compete. Note: this is not value.

My order:

Layman - expiring, not getting playing time
McLaughlin - good contract, but not playing well, and Bolmaro will get his minutes
Okogie - useful and plays hard, but sometimes a DNP-CD. I don’t know if we re-sign him this summer
Nowell - potential and a good contract, but hasn’t developed much trade value
Prince - bigger matching contract, though negative. I’d rank him higher, but team seems to listen to him as a vet
Beasley - we need three point shooting. He hasn’t shot well yet, so we want him to improve to raise trade value.
Bolmaro - promising young player locked up
Naz Reid - he may be more valuable elsewhere with starter minutes, but we desperately need his size.
MIN 2022 1st, top 10 protections. No pick last year and uncertainty on our team now. Gupta analytics for scouting
Vanderbilt - heart of the defense, and his contract is great even if we trade for another big
McDaniels - tons of potential, though playing worse than last year.
Russell - great closer but poor individual season for shooting and turnovers. KAT pal. Few teams where he would fit.
Beverley - motivates the whole team. Coach 2, brings accountability others need. Loves it here.
KAT - too hard for MIN to attract superstar talent
Edwards - hoping he grows to be the face of the franchise, locked into rookie scale

Who goes up or down in your order for how much Gupta would be willing to trade him?
