Whereas Butler is like a better facilitating, better defending less athletic, less explosive Wade (like 2012 Wade or something similar to that nature).

One is a high grade offensive hub which are premium number one tier players while RJ has never shown that type of game.

Well what do you know.

He’s actually more like Wolves Wiggins to be honest. Defense not good and pretty bad considering his great wing size, offense pretty anemic, not much wiggle, functionality is stiff not a great shooter.

Barrett -> Jimmy Butler? ..... Nope

Butler can hit 88% of his free throws, Barrett can't.... Barrett is more of MKG

RJ has been awful on offense, not as bad as his rookie year, but not as good as last year. Last year, 29% of his shots were from 3 where he hit 40% of them. 43% of those 29% were corner 3’s where he shot 42.5%. This year; he’s shooting 39% of his shots from 3 but hitting only 32% of them. He’s only shooting 29% of those from the corner and hitting just 32% of those. Clearly we need him to progress when he’s actually regressed. Part of that is because the shots he’s getting aren’t as easy, but he’s also missing some shots that he should be making.

Theres reason to be optimistic though!
Through the first 23 games last year, RJ shot 27% from 3! He finished the year shooting 45.5% from 3 over his final 44 games…Theres evidence pointing toward him being a slow starter and figuring it out so I’m not writing him off yet and you shouldn’t either… he has the tools and the mentality, don't lose faith!

Yeah, that's not true. But if it helps you sleep better at night, keep on believing that.

Barrett with another embarrassing game. Going 36% shooting, 0-8 from three.

His defense is not elite, just slightly above average and his shooting is maybe the worst in the NBA.

As stats show he keeps progressing.

Stats also show he keeps add more to his overall game.

Stats also show his defense has gotten better each year.

For get Jimmy butler for a example and look at jaylen brown.

Similar advancement.

To be naive and say this young man isn’t getting better is just dumb.

Rj is a player everybody would want. Young, smart & a great locker room player with skills.

Am I saying he will be mvp one day no. Can he be? Yes a lot of player can be.

Anyone that watched him at Duke could see he wasn't an elite prospect. Coach K apparently made some promises during recruiting so had to play him on ball way too much which ended up hurting that Zion team tbh. I still think he will pan out to be a pretty good NBA player but he's definitely not going to be a franchise player.

He looked like he was good getting to the rim at Duke but he also had awful tunnel vision driving.

I wouldn't lay into the guy too much. He just a 3rd pick in a 2 player draft type of guy. Those are the vibes I get from him. It's happened before and the Knicks just got unlucky with the lotto balls.
Brian Geltzeiler: You see Mark Jackson getting a head coaching job as early as next year?

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

RJBs best / highest level comparison is James harden .
Despite the striking physical resemblance ,
1. both lefties
2. both reputed B level athleticism
3. RJB posted a 40% season from 3 already.
4. Rolling thunder type of offense toward the rim.

With most players you usually want to go top shelf with a comp and see whether they achieve or underachieve these expectations .
