Why did the Warriors not pick up a cheap good Center in the offseason?

Post#1 » by wfiles » Sun Dec 5, 2021 1:01 am

Howard, McGee, Drummond, Whiteside was available. It's clear their biggest weakness is the Center position. They will get abused by Ayton, Jokic, Gobert, AD in the playoffs. Are they really going to rely on James Bustman and Kevon Looney?

Because they know they are at best when they are playing small ball. Draymond Green, Juan Toscano-Anderson and Nemanja Bjelica are their type of centers.

Just an observation. Carry on :usa:

Because they have a 20 year old 7 footer who they are going to develop over the season into their starting center. They dont need any other bigs, they play center by committee anyways.

I can only imagine how good Wiseman will look when hes no longer surrounded by terrible players and g-leaguers.

Those centers all suck, they have Looney + a small ball center, stretch center and an upside center.
They're also not the team that needs to make the adjustments right now.

They should try to trade for Domantas Sabonis.

Looney has worked out pretty well for them in the past

Exactly. Howard, Drummond and Whiteside would not fit how they play at all, and I am not sure how much they would help against the few skilled bigs like Ayton, Jokic and AD anyway. They had Javale whom I really like but Kerr eventually wasn't finding many minutes for him.

What makes you think you know better than them? They see him up close and in person daily.

It’s not like Wiseman was trash when he played. He had an OK rookie season.

They made that trade in my 2k20 campaign. As a Lithuanian, I would love that, even tho I am not the biggest Domantas fan or anything, but would like to see fellow Lithuanian on a legit contender. Ilgauskas and Arvydas were close, Jonas was traded, we as nation still dont have NBA ring.
Too much sense that trade make, Indy needs to blow it up, while GSW need to go all in. No way they dont get championship run with Steph, Dray, Klay back and Domas to boot, thats a stacked team, and not in a way Lakers are stacked

I think if they traded for him they would cement themselves as the favorites. He is on a great contract, so they can afford to trade for him and keep their big three and Wiggins. He would fit their style of play like a glove as well.

Would be shocking to see them trade for Sabonis and not have give up any of those 4.

Domantas sabonis for Kuminga/Wiseman/Toscano and 2 first round picks works. Would Indy say no?

before the season started gsw was pretty much picked to be in the middle of the pack fighting for a play-in spot

no one expected this season to go wacko for the whole league. so here we are with gsw with a roster that bears no resemblance to a ring team,,,,with a record of a ring team

By a great many metrics among guys actually getting minutes, he was the worst player in the nba last year.
