Watch his podcast and petition some club/bar to give him a variety show night you can attend. No place on a Basketball broadcast for all that CRAP.

Lol for real. Don't change Stacy. Love everything. The Nationwide song. The quips. The catchphrases. Everything. EVEN the Bane stuff is growing on me. Bruh, I still even have the Burger King bendy doll of Stacey from the 90s.

I will say that I wish he would let the play by play guy do his thing a bit and then go ham on the catchphrases on replay instead of stepping on the pbp guy a bit. But if that's my only gripe then we have it pretty good. And he can't satisfy all of us 100% of the time.

The Nationwide thing was probably a request by the Nationwide, realistically. If the sponsor told him to stop, he has to stop. "Crybaby bulls fans" = potential customers.

He did the Bane voice again!

Yeah I forgot when I posted that they had already started promoting it. Oh well, I think it’s kind of a dumb nickname, but if it gets Zach and DeMar some extra cash, I guess I will be fine just ignoring it.

I’m enjoying the slightly toned down Stacey. Still a lot of fun, and more insights.

I agree that it's better. But you can tell he's not happy about it.

I bet those above him that told him didn't specifically mention everything. There was a bit between him and the PBP guy talking about how great a singer Stacy is, and how the cuppy coffee thing last year was such a profitable thing for the BPB guy. Then he stuck in singing the MJ song for Zach, which is cringeworthy. And of course the Bane voice at the end.

He really does think highly of himself as an entertainer.

Cut out Cookie Monster and the Bane voice. That is all I want for Christmas, the rest is good to great!

But those two? Just cringe.

Stacey didn't sing the nationwide jingle because he has a sinus infection

I’m not necessarily anti-golden pipes. It’s whatever the hell Amin is doing on the side that weirds me out, and makes me dislike the bit.

I don’t know why Bane had to come back. Maybe if he made an “I own Gotham now” type phrase that fit. Hope he shelves it again unless we’re playing the grizz...then whatever, can live with it for a game or two a year.

Is this true? If so, that's too bad. I noticed that he had definitely turned down the hype, and not just on the Nationwide jingle. I really enjoyed it, and it forced him to provide insight in whole sentences, rather than just catchphrases. Which he could actually do!
Sad if it's only because he was sick.

Doubt it was us.. I wouldn’t doubt it if someone in charge told him to tone it down.

Hes literally been singing it for years. Quite the late reaction by someone in charge if that is the case.

He was singing it for years, but lately he started singing more lyrics. Perhaps that was the last drop.

Was busy all weekend and didn't see the Bulls Nets game till now. Freaking awesome game. But holy cow Stacey going to his absolutely inexplicable "Bane voice" right after the Bulls capped a super exciting win was the most vibe killing, awkward as hell moment I can remember from him. The fill in play by play dude just went silent with a "I have no idea howto respond to this" level of dead air during an otherwise really exciting moment.

I would pay a significant amount if I could subscribe to watch every Bulls game with only an arena audio feed. Just crowd noise, sneaker squeaking, the PA, and player/coach shouting. Not an indictment of Stacey, per se, but of sports broadcast in general.

I'd pay, I dunno, ten bucks a game? Fifteen? Forty for playoff games? If I could turn on and off a commentary track and select my own couple camera angles, and pause/rewind plays in a picture-in-picture window. I think eventually things like this, a more interactive/immersive viewing experience, will become a thing.
