I didn't expect he would have a long career before he was drafted. Watching those videos about the gait in his walk, his sheer size at his height and his explosiveness just didn't quite add up to long career. Playing as many games as he did last season was already a bit of a surprise to me. I thought it would be more of a start, stop, start, stop kind of season where he'd play a handful of games then go down for a couple for "soreness" then play another handful of games.

The guy really needs to keep his weight in check. I know it's easier said than done but if he wants to have a respectable NBA career, it's what he's gonna have to do and I'm pulling for him because the NBA needs talent like him

Yeah, I've said prior to that draft that I would sell that pick to the highest bidder - or try to do a draft day trade for Morant + whatever, like the Magic did with CWebb/Penny back in the day... I wasn't sure that Morant was gonna be this good, but I was sure that Zion is out of the league after a short, rocky and subpar (expectations wise for sure) career with that body.

The Denver Nuggets will sign Davon Reed of the G League's Grand Rapids Gold using the hardship exception.

Davon Reed? Man, how hard is their hardship? They crash the team plane?

Kinda funny that between all the selections we made in 2016 and 2017, Reed is now the only one of them on a team roster.

"Funny." Ha ha.

I really liked Davon. He reminded me of Wes Persons. I think his injury and the bad team and culture we had when he was drafted just ruined any chance he had to make a career in the NBA. Hope he plays well for Denver, unless they play us.

Side note: Davon averaged 15 points, 6 assists, 8.3 rebounds, 2.1 steals, 0.7 blocks per game shooting 42.9% from three over the seven games he played in the GLeague this season.

Hmm. Interesting. He was such a huge zero in SL.

Wes Person was a player right off the bat. Effortless shooter. It was the rest of the game that never came to him.

Well, while I kinda chuckled on that comment, at least they are trying to sustain, and maximize their chances. We are not using our DPE for Saric, while that would be the way to go knowing his injury, and his previous deficies it is pretty sure he will not make a return this year, of if he does he will not be of any use, especially not in the playoffs.

Watched first quarter of Pels vs Mavs game and most interesting thing was if Pels score ten points, but they have ended winning the game big. Mavs offense turned from most efficient two years ago to a complete garbage. Not sure if it's because of Kidd's coaching, Luka's bad shape, KP missing the game. One of the potential first round opponents. Between Lakers/Luka matchup it should be fun.

Wow, Spurs crushing the Warriors to start. Dubs not starting too good on the 2nd night of a b2b. Still a long time to come back though.

Not to toot my own horn, but this is what I was yapping about: Davon Reed's first game as a Nugget - played 24 minutes, 3/4 from the floor (3/3 from 3) 1 rebound, 4 assists, 2 steals and a block.A +5 with him on the floor in a winning game. He also played a bit better than the box score I feel - I watched the game as it was super early and a convinient time for me.

This is why you pick up players and give them a chance. Wainwright ain't it, or he would have showed by now.

Similar situation as us except we lost to the good team on the 2nd of a B2B while they lost to the crap team

The Hornets are my 2nd fav team behind Phoenix (given they're my local team), but for Atlanta to lose to them, at home, with them missing Ball, Rozier, and Plumlee.... if I were a Hawks fan, I would be irate. Absolutely inexcusable loss.

On the flippity flip, I'm thrilled the Hornets got this done! Bridges, Hayward and Oubre filled in along with some of the role players. Good for the team's growth.

Rex Chapman, no question. One of the fiercest flamethrowers there ever was. Loved that guy. Hit the single best shot I've ever watched a Sun hit. You know the one.

For the kids, who might not know. One of my all-time favorite teams. Started the season 0-13 before catching fire to make the playoffs. Then this:

Wes Person was a good 3pt shooter but he was extremely unathletic, maybe James Jones is a good comparison?

Pretty good comp, I think, but honestly my memory of Wes isn't so great. I had thought that Wes kind of fell off after starting his career really strong for us, but I looked at his stats and realized he was a key cog for the Cavs for several years. Played so many more minutes that JJ ever did, so it's hard to argue he wasn't the better player. Shot a high 3FG% for many years.

Overall, Wes shot much better than Rex throughout their careers. But Wes was more of a spot up shooter, whereas Rex ran around like Curry, throwing up tough shot after tough shot. Lots of games where he didn't hit anything, but he was a release valve we would use whenever a possession was dead and we'd throw it to Rex to heave from 30 on the move. Dropped off very quickly his last year with us in 1999-2000 and was out of the league very suddenly at the age of 32. I remember being very surprised that his career was over so quickly after being so key for us from 1996-99. Loved that guy.

I didn't mean in every part of his game, I really meant how he looked on the court and their body movements. Wes came into the league with a better team and coach than Davon. Their output reflects the teams they joined(came into the league). While its tough to look at just seven games for Davon, in his recent GLeague stats, his three point percentage is what really stood out to me. 42.9% is very respectable, and would transfer well with a team like Denver.

It’s too bad that the West sucks this year. The Lakers may qualify for playoffs even with an under .500 record.

I know most of us including me is upset about Jalen over Haliburton pick right now but watching Desmond Bane playing excellent really hurts as it was obvious that Suns were really interested about picking him.

It is "funny." I was torn on Smith as a prospect, kept moving him up and down my board. Liked Paul Reed (2nd round) about as much or more. I liked Bane a lot, thought he might be a good selection, thought there was a chance we'd take him #10. If I was drafting for us, I probably would've taken Vassell, who I like better than Halliburton today.

I predicted Jones would take Smith because it seemed like a possibly very clever surprise reach, a la Cam Johnson, but also fairly conservative because I thought his long ball would translate. But when I saw his dumb@ss tweets being posted after the draft, I was like, whoa there. Stupid people are rarely great ballers. Not saying he's stupid, but... hard to rule it out.

A big bummer all around. Bane would be an awesome add to this group. Oh well, there's always the next draft... oh wait.
