Hes def not unanimous after tonight but still in the lead

Steph, Kd, Jokic and Giannis are the only real candidates unless Luka wakes up. Demar and Pg are having cute seasons but its like Pg13s "Mvp" campaign in Okc. Hes not actually Mvp level

Luka shouldn't be in the consideration ahead of anyone, really, he has been pretty bad by his own standards. Anyway, Jokic for me, clearly leads, even though I fully understand that if voting was done today, Steph would easily win it.

Record has always factored into the vote guys. It's not just about raw and advanced stats. Leadership matters a lot, and Curry is turning basically the same team as last year with a few different ancillary pieces into one of the best in the league.

Denver is 7th in the west with a .500 record. Team record is significant.
1. Curry
2. Derozan
3. Durant
4. Giannis

There is not a single superstar in the league that could bring that team to a .500 record other than Jokic. Take him away and they are easily the worst team in the league. They are over 10-7 when he plays and I have no doubt he beats the Jazz too if he didn’t bump knees with Gobert before the half. I don’t think people fully realize what Jokic is doing here with so little talent around him

Why Derozan and not Lavine? Even if we disregard the talent surrounding the candidates to allow either to be mentionedhere, there is no reason to nominate one over the other.

Record matters so it's Curry right now, even though Jokic has been the best player in the league and it's really not close. He's been better than Curry on both sides of the court.

If Jokic hadn’t missed games and had led the Nuggets to more wins during those ones he missed, it would be him. But since he did, it’s Steph.

Tier 1:
Jokic/Curry

Tier 2:
Giannis/KD

Jokic has been the best player in the league this year. If these 4 guys continued this level of play for the rest of the year, I think Jokic wins if he can get Denver to a top 3 seed.

That to me is going to be the biggest question mark with the MVP race. Because at the moment Jokic is on his own tier of level of play.

But right now I wouldn’t be shocked if any of those 4 win it. There isn’t much of a gap between tier 1 and 2 in my opinion.

Taking the following into account: stats, team record, lack of supporting unit

I'd go with Giannis right now.

Jokic missed 5 games straight. Ugh duh they’re going to have a subpar record. People keep acting like he’s played every game and they’re .500.

With that said he can’t miss many games because if you miss too much you can’t win MVP.

It’s Jokic as far as I’m concerned.

It’ll be Steph media wise. Hope Jokic wins back to back though

Derozan has been dope but he's definitely not top 2 unless you have severe voter fatigue.
Lavine's stats are very close to Derozan's as well.

Without Giannis, the Bucks almost beat the Raptors and blew out a Heat team that was albeit missing its two best players. His supporting cast is doing quite well.

The Raptors are garbage.
