DAL/IND/CHA

Post#1 » by aguiar95 » Sun Dec 5, 2021 5:41 pm

CHA in: Turner, Moses, Martin.
CHA out: Plumlee, Bouknight, Washington, '22 NOP 1st (lottery protected).

Why? Get a much needed upgrade at center to try and build into at least a mediocre defense (right now it's very bad).

Ball/Smith
Rozier/Martin
Hayward/Oubre
Bridges/McDaniels
Turner/Jones

IND in: Plumlee, Bouknight, Brunson, '22 NOP 1st (lottery protected)
IND out: Turner, Lamb, Martin.

Why? Gets some young pieces to start it's mini-rebuild (eventually Brogdon/Levert will be traded).

Brogdon/Brunson
Levert/Duarte
Holiday/Craig
Warren/Jackson
Sabonis/Bitadze

DAL in: Lamb, Washington
DAL out: Brunson, Moses.

Why? Get a legitimate PF to pair with KP and get a wing for it's TPE.

Doncic/Ntilikina
Hardaway/Lamb
Finney-Smith/Bullock
Washington/Kleber
Porzingis/Powell

Not to mention Plumlee has no value to Pacers. On the Pacers he would just be bad salary

Hard pass for Dallas. They are already in need of another playmaker/distributor and this only deepens that need. Also very low return for a good young high IQ PG. Dallas can get better return for Brunson.

I think you're overreacting (or maybe you REAAALY like Turner). Aaron Gordon (good young starter like Turner with one and a half years left on it's deal) got Harris (worse salary than Plumlee), Hampton (much, much worse prospect than Bouknight/Brunson) and a protected 1st (very long till they put their hands on it).

Yep...Gordon was all hype while Turner actually has a DPOY proven presence. Different league of players.

I think Hampton's value last year and Brunson's value this year is very similar...late 1st. Brunson being a UFA hurts his value.

Pacers have never tanked and this deal only makes sense if we wanted to be worse. I think the plan is to hope Warren turns things around in January. We might trade a malcontent but that's not Turner.

Dallas steals quite a bit of value. Washington+Bouknight+1st for Turner should be in the ballpark value-wise, but it's probably Bouknight that should be going to a 3rd team for a win now SF/PF. Indy would have a use for PJ Washington, Bouk gets totally overshadowed by Duarte and LeVert.

Turner is the BPA, Brunson the second best player.
If the Mavs are interested, its for Turner and in that case they just cut out Charlotte in this deal

I believe Pacers need to move one of Turner or Sabonis and I think the value of centers is at an all time low. This deal returns another lesser center, a rookie who plays the same position as our rookie (also a lesser player), a pg who will be an unrestricted free and a first round pick that won’t convey. I don’t see much to like.

It's noticeable this was built from a Charlotte perspective

Gordon is not a good young starter he's not a good player at all. This is his 8th season and he's never shown anything that is as good as Turner's production. He's a good athlete, but he's not impactful at all. Turner changes games with his shot blocking and can really shoot.
