Definitely his best game against a decent opponent. Didn’t hurt that the opposing big was in fouls trouble in about 2 minutes. Looked much more confident going to the hole and made a couple jumpers. Hope it continues. Vogt on the other hand was quite bad.

Marquette's bigs were too active for him. His role is to bang against big fives this year which is a perfect compliment to Crowl.

I think UW is gonna get smoked when they play Purdue and Illinois.

It's a Catholic Conference. All of their rivals are logic.

Going back to this. Homer is arguing on twitter that Marquette's championship is better than Wisconsin's because it happened later, McGuire is better than Bo because reasons and that Marquette's Final Four is better than Wisconsin's two Final Fours because Marquette had Dwyane Wade. What a delightful moron.

Why are we so trash at recruiting top 50 guys from the state of Wisconsin.

Our program has been in the top 15 programs the past 10 years, i dont think its arguable.

Are they targeting kids that wont be problems at UW or kids that dont want the bag of cash treatment?

Basketball isn't really an in-state recruiting sport, even though it's nice to get the good ones occasionally. The bag of cash thing is a major element of the issues you mention.

I love Madison. I went to school there, I love the school, it's a well-run program.

I also don't blame most basketball recruits for taking money, weather, and the perceived "this coach/style will get you to the NBA."

We're on year, what, 25(?) of "we'll do it our own way and be successful." Or who knows, we can try to be the next Kansas and land 5-star recruits and probably turn into the next Minnesota. Whatever.

Strained relations with some of the more prominent AAU programs, academic qualifications and non-existent record of producing draftables who leave with more than one year of eligibility.

With regards to the FFs, was he arguing the MU team was better, or the run/experience? I mean arguing either one is dumb, but how do you make the case that watching Kansas run a layup line on you for 2 hours is better than beating undefeated KY?

And in the other FF year playing a down to the wire game with UK and basically losing on a hail mary. And of course the Duke game they led most of the game too and it generally went to the end. They were really a couple bounces away from potentially winning back to back titles. I know who knows what happens in the first FF title game, but I'd have been fairly confident.

It's really not worth any thought or time, but I'll just throw in that the second of those UW FFs featured three teams that would be favorites in basically any other FF +/- a decade if you picked them up and plopped them down somewhere. Duke, Kentucky, and Wisconsin were all absolutely stacked and featured teams that were record breaking in some way or another (record, advanced analytics, recruiting, etc.).

And as I'm sure you can tell, I'm not salty about it at all. Time has definitely helped heal the wound

Can't watch the game but am I right that Crowl is getting killed on the glass?

We have to be flamethrowing from outside to beat a team and big and athletic as Indiana, methinks.

We are definitely not flamethrowing from anywhere.

Hopefully the breather allows Davis to settle in. He looked way too amped early.

Also, Indiana is flamethrowing. Takes it from, “this will be tough” to “lol yeah right.”

Not getting much love from the refs either.
